Question About Fragrant Cloud
Comments (31)@ alameda: I have Double Delight, Fragrant Cloud, Mister Lincoln, and Dolly Parton. Even though I love them all, Fragrant Cloud is totally my favorite. If you are trying to have a fragrance garden, you must have this rose. The blooms were the size of oranges and lasted a solid 7-10 days. You'll love it. @ seil: what a bummer! My FC did fine this summer and we had a record breaking, "catastrophic" summer. Maybe it's the humidity from the lake? @ roseseek: Great suggestion putting Fragrant Cloud and Miss All American Beauty next to each other. That's what I did in my garden and I have to say the colors are great next to each other-- a fireworks display of roses. When the breeze is just right-- it's just heavenly.. Makes all of the extra tending worth it....See MoreIllusion collar
Comments (5)Actually, if you watch Cesar's first contact with a new dog, he uses a simple cheap plastic lead---the kind many vets give away. The reason he uses that first is it is easy to keep in place---just behind the dogs head and loosens as soon as pressure is released. The proper technique for that placement is to take training slow---you do not want to jerk back on the lead---just short jerks to the side(with a command). If your dog lunges away, you might want to use the wider collar and a larger lead that you can pull back on---along with the plastic lead. Keep the large lead in the hand on the side where the dog is and the plastic lead iacross your front in your other hand. Use short jerks to redirect the dogs intent(lunging, jumping, misbehaving,etc.)...See MorePainting clouds on the ceiling
Comments (32)You can add a glaze coat to your paint to extend the drying time. (BennyMoore has a good water based one) Much easier to have a bit of transparency in your colors for blending. A small rack of tints will help with color adjusting. You will need many more variations in your color palate to create the sky you are wanting. It looks much easier than one thinks. Big flat blending brushes, though rather expensive, make it much easier to cover large areas. It will be a work-out. A project like that, even though it is such a small scale, should be worked out and sampled on ground level first so when translating above your head it is mapped out and familiar. Comments (20)Thank you all for all of your fantastic suggestions! I'm still gathering up the swatches and am hoping to get some paint on the wall by next weekend (fingers crossed!). saypoint - your advice is SPOT on (and it works for checking out the swatches too)! Thank You! Instead of putting the swatches next to each other (on a fairly bright green tinted primer wall), I separated them and put them on a white backdrop. It has made such a HUGE difference, and they look so different to me now! So far, the lead swatch is Soft Fern. When I had it next to brighter green swatches I wasn't crazy about it, and thought it was too gray - but when I looked at it by itself (and on a white backdrop) - I am Really loving it. Soft, subtle, yet still a lovely green. It could be - "the one!" I'll definitely keep you all posted. Thank you so much, again!! :)...See More- 8 years agolast modified: 8 years ago
