I'm in the middle of a remodel, and am starting to think about furniture placement. What I'm considering is to put my sofa along a wall, with a sofa table behind it, and then a large mirror hanging above the sofa table on the wall. I'd place tall pottery or candlesticks, etc. on the sofa table to "soften" the large mirror surface. Does anyone have this arrangement? Any pictures to share? Any ideas/caveats for me? Thanks!

I was THINKING of taking down those boy/girl pics by the gold chair and using the long white bowl shelf that was ORIGINALLY above the sofa where the boy/girl prints are currently and I have a few small gameboards stashed away I could incorporate on this shelf. I just have to have my hubby help me there to see if I would knock myself out on the shelf getting out of the chair! He is playing hockey now but I will rope him into that tomorrow. Two prints, matched over the 2 cushions in the sofa appear too repetitive in shape IMO. If you do a mirror I would recommend a metal starburst style that will add some sparkle & texture to your room, and a round shape for interest, but not actually reflect anyone's image. Having a regular mirror reflecting your image when you walk into a room is very disconcerting to many people. I think those lamps on the side tables are too small for the scale of your furniture and your room. When you position lamps next to seating, especially for reading, the bottom of the shade should never be lower than your shoulder. These small lamps are accent lamps that can be placed on top of taller cabinets as ambient light for a room. I would recommend some art glass lamps or ceramic base lamps that provide some color for the room and then position a pair of some type of art on either side above the lamp tables.
