Pleasant surprise for me this Saturday

For several months now the forums haven't worked right with Opera, my browser of choice. Saw so much hoopla over the forum changes and it got me thinking. There's been a couple Opera updates of late, a Windows update that changed a lot of things on my computer for the worse and there's the revision of the forum. So, I wondered if Opera will work again. And here it is. Working just fine. Little things mean a lot.

And what's more: I wasn't forced to post to multiple forums that some seem to complain about. Much like it was before, just a little different technique. And it walked me right through it.

If this is the worst, wow, I sure have no complaints! LOL

Cynic, I used to use Opera then I heard from a computer guy that it was sold to the Chinese for data collection. I now stick with Chrome. Opera was pretty cool though. I suppose, once I think about it, everything technological is data tracking. So one browser is probably as good as the next.

Plants of all types produce more flowers, thus more seed or fruit, when stressed. It's their way of insuring survival of the species, by producing more offspring. I like to tell the tale of my old White Oak tree that suffered a double lightning stroke several years ago. Prior to that, it produced few acorns. But, the year following the severe lightning damage, the acorn production increased more than a 1000 fold. I raked and carried away seveal 40 gallon garbage cans full of acorns and mowed thousands of seedlings in my lawn. The second year, production dropped dramatically and then, as the tree recovered, fruit production slowly returned to it's normal few acorns. I suspect that the shortage of moisture has placed your plants in the survival mode. as it has mine, which are also blooming profusely. Here's hoping, dancing, praying for rain! Thank you, both of you, for sharing in my excitement! Yes, I am overwhelmed by these "precious gifts" I received....gardeners DO make great friends :-) I can't wait to get home from work and smell my apartment! And I can just stare at these little cuties all day. I never thought I'd fall in love with "small" foliage (I tend to like the bigger leaves), but I just love these plants and the way they hang. By the way, it must be true about hoyas liking to be potbound. The Bella is in a pot that is maybe 2" (they are both in cache's so it's hard to tell), and the Lacunosa is in a home-made pot...the bottom of a plastic orange juice container (maybe about 3" or even smaller). That container is see-through and all I see is roots (hardly any soil)...now THAT is what I called rootbound!

PHM is one of the ramblers I really like. I hope it fully recovers. Mine is stil very young and competing with very water and nutrient efficient native plants under unfavarobale conditions. I hope it will manage to grow.

Jasdip, I find that very hard to believe. Does he have anything to support that claim? I have suspicions about that computer guy. I'm sure open to looking at facts if he has any. Opera was founded in Norway and is still based in Oslo, Norway. There are offices in Poland, Sweden and China. I have never seen or heard anything credible that they are anything but a Norwegian company and just the comment that they were sold for data collection? I would never let that guy access my computer.! There's been a lot of claims about upstart companies that threaten the beasts. Many companies, including American and Canadian companies have offices in China so if he's using that as a scare tactic it really lessens his credibility.

Given that Opera now is based on the Chromium platform, like a bunch of other browsers, if Opera is a data collector for the Chinese, so is Chrome, Slimjet, Pale Moon and all the rest. I had so much trouble with Chrome, I quit putting it on any of my systems that I own or advise.

I'm not losing any sleep. That claim is just too far-fetched for me without some proof. And Opera is a proven browser. I think that guy was either pulling your leg, had ulterior motives or was totally gullible.
