I think it's time to re-select. That 2 months could turn into 3 or never. It's not like that tub design is particularly unique; I'm sure you could find something very similar, cast iron or not. Check out Duravit. They've got a nice array of more modern-looking, clean-lined options. Toto makes nice products in general, so I'm sure that could work, too, depending on your price point.

Thanks for the input. Duravit doesn't look to have any alcove tubs that are 60x32. I'll see what Toto has.

We ran into the same availability problem due to the Kohler plant fire. We specified the Kohler Villager tub which is just a plain, simple tub. We were concerned the "available in 2 months" would creep to several months. To keep our project on time Ferguson's offered a tub from Song. I was not thrilled that it is from China (would rather have a made in Wisconsin Kohler tub) but it is for a guest bath so won't get much use. It has a lifetime warranty, whatever that means.

Two months. Understand that cast iron tubs are installed during top out plumbing, before frame inspection which is before drywall. If that is 3 months out, you can risk it maybe, but otherwise reselect.

My selection goal for clients is "all plumbing fixtures selected by ground breaking" so I can order rough in valves & tubs, and accommodate selections in the foundation & framing stages.

Find a cast iron solution. Do not compromise on acrylic.

I saw Toto cast iron tubs when I was shopping and liked them very much, but I have no experience. I have seen positive reviews of them here, though. I think they are cheaper than their Kohler counterparts.

The Kohler Villagers are also available, and a lot cheaper, but smaller in width (30" wide instead of 32" - they will work fine too), and smaller in depth. Do folks have experience with those?

The most common cast iron tub past few decades. A workhorse.... important to decide which in order to get drain and valve centerlines correct.

People have liked their Toto toilets. Toto doesn't have that minimalist look that the Bellwether has IIRC.

I have cast Iron Bellwether 30x60 and it has been a great tub for a lower tub, like the villager. Good one for shower/tub combo, or bathing kids and pets.

You are looking at the original Bellwether. Did you know that it has a very short bottom? It also has a significant slant to the front end at the spout and requires a longer spout, to clear the slope as the water falls to the drain. That was a complaint by some in the years past. The Bellwether I have is a standard install, where the one you are looking at needs the drain placed specific to the tub, as it is not your standard placement from the alcove wall. Check the specs and compare those with a standard install such as the Memoirs, which I believe is more standard plumbing placement.
