Wordly gray and anew gray will make the alabaster molding pop , but anew gray have more contrast. Contrast invites the eye in and is what gives the wow factor. The more contrast the more drama. It gives your room a canvas where the tone is set to decorate and the music begins. Alabaster cabinets are beautiful with contrast when paired with black brushed granites and black matte knobs and handles. Don’t be afraid to contrast your wall color with a deeper chroma. As a designer, I see lots of people going lighter and before you know it the walls are all white. Look at paintings and study the art in museums no one paints an all white painting.

You say you will be replacing your furniture in a few years. I advise you take some time to read any thing and everything about decorating. Look at magazines for furniture style, colors, patterns ...in short educate your self on what you like. Investigate fabrics...not plastics fabrics ...to see what wonderful colors and textures they come in...and most fabrics are now protected with ScotchGuard or some thing similar. And please no gray....

To answer some questions - we just bought the house and the accessible beige was freshly painted, I do really like the color it works really well and i am not really wanting to repaint it - hence the unanticipated dilemma. But, if I have to repaint so my choices make sense I will 🥲🤪. The kitchen is in full view from the living room completely open between those two rooms. It gets NW light and the current lighting is daylight which I want to switch to bright white. Unfortunately, we probably won't be able to do refinish the floor and update kitchen at the same time so we had to prioritize. The floor is hardwood and is in good condition but the kitchen which we use very often is 25 yrs old and really needs updating. cabinets seem to be wood abled to be sanded. I'm not married to the gray paint, I just didn't anticipate it not working out. I'm looking to see if there is a color that'll satisfy my gray idea and coordinates well with the freshly painted accessible beige. since you all are experienced - i figured i would try to ask here. I've been googling but its a lot and did not really fit my situation as my walls are already done. Just trying to figure all of this out to get the best results. I'm going to sample alabaster and aesthetic white to see how it looks. I appreciate the reccomendations and education.
