How are the temperatures there? If it gets too hot (or too cold, but that seems unlikely) the pod growth may slow. In that case, I wouldn't worry too much about it. But I completely agree that the pods are obviously not cayenne (long, thin, almost strongly pods) or Anaheims (shorter, stubbier, pointy at the end). Burpee does sell some round peppers. I don't remember for sure, but I think they are all sweet peppers. This looks more like one of those peppers maybe. Angie

Bill, could you help me? You have great knowledge around this part of town... I have an overwintered bhut doing great in a 5 gallon pot (would probably be doing better in my raised beds. It seems to never ever dry out in the greenhouse) with 2 1" pods, and close to a hundred blossoms. I have an overwintered habanero in a 3-4 gallon pot but it was quite small. Is blossoming, but growth completely stunted and it's leaves are all turning yellow instead of deep dark green. Leaves are droopy. It's not doing very well but don't have a pic of it yet. The pot is too wet firstly as I haven't watered them for 3 weeks but it's been raining almost every night and it's humid in the greenhouse. I tried giving it a weak dose of nutrients with no effect. Planted in a semi 5/1/1 mix that may contain more sapwood than I would like. Kind of rushed things and didn't do them as intended due to an injury. Suggestions? Was thinking of trying to find room in my raised bed seeing as it's small but it's already cramped. Or repotting it and taking more care in sorting out sapwood from pine bark. Would that shock the plant?

I buy a cheap bottle of vodka every fall, just for my bulbs that I am going to force. When they start to put up their foliage, I give each a tablespoon or so of the vodka, poured in the water. The vodka keeps the flower stalks from getting so tall that they fall over and look ugly. You do need to be careful and engineer when you add the vodka, lest you have no flower stalk, but it is valuable knowledge! I am a tee-totaler, so my plants know by default that the vodka is not to be enjoyed. For Medicinal Purposes Only! LOLOLOL Janie

it's TYLCV (tomato yellow leaf curl virus), seems to be a problem in Florida due to whiteflies.. it will kill your plants.. the most destructive problem a tomato plant can have.
