Former balcony converting to entry hall/alcove - ???

We live in large house that was converted into 4 apartments. Great wide halls, high ceilings, and this false floor built over a former balcony that looked down at the original front hall. Work in progress, we just ripped up the false floor to see what reinforcements were needed to make it liveable. We'll solidify the floor and take down the balcony guard - but then how to use this space? It's the first thing we see when we open the front door. There is a room just to the left, and a long hall to the right (where we are putting in a large vestiaire) that leads to the rest of the apartment. I was thinking in this new space maybe a bench across from a slim console table? Some plants? Also the entire apartment is white except for yellow wallpaper on the walls to either side of this large window. We're thinking of taking that down, and painting instead but not sure if we should do the same white or do an accent color (nothing crazy). Any suggestions appreciated! The space measures 190cm in width (6 ft 3 in) and 170cm (5ft 7in) depth, with a protruding section in back left corner that measures 26cm wide and 26cm deep (10x10in). The ceiling is about 10 ft tall at the window but gets higher closer to the front door. Thank you!
