My bathroom is awful! Ugly wallpaper and pink faux tile all around-halfway up the wall. Some spots are peeling from water/moisture in the bathroom.. I am new to DIY things .. but I don't have the time or energy to rip down the faux tile (esp. because I don't know what is behind it, or what to do when tear it down) So I was thinking there has to be a way to paint it. And if there is .. should I try to sand down the areas where there is moisture damage or would that make it look worse? I just would like a different color HELP! I can't stand to look at it anymore! Thank you!

Jill Wood, glad to hear that I inspired you to use the DalTile Florentine tile that my DD used in her bathroom. Your bathroom turned out beautiful. I am getting the itch to redo my hall bathroom. I have a long vanity like you do and hadn't thought about possibly using 3 mirrors like you have. So you maybe inspiring my to do the same. Can you please tell me how long your vanity is how wide the mirrors are. Would also love to know about the windows in your tub area. They are so pretty. Are they etched glass or window film. Do they provide good privacy at night. I have pleated shades on my MB windows and the are great during the day but at night with the room lights on, from the outside, you can see silhouettes of whoever is in the bathroom. I would like to get nicer windows in my MB.

Sumod- The medicine cabinets are simple wood frames with a cabinet-grade plywood back that just sit in the stud cavity. Because of the dimensions, the front of the frame projects about 1"+ beyond the finished wall. The medicine cabinet doors are also plywood with veneered edges and they are attached to the frame with standard cabinet hinges (Euro hinges). The mirrors are just 1/4" plate glass ordered to size from a glass shop and held in place with mirror mastic and a metal strip at the bottom that you don't really see. The guy who did the cabinets just made the medicine cabinets as part of the job. I don't know about the door brand...we live in a large metro area that has lots of door shops and the doors are just solid core maple doors with the center cut out and a maple panel held in with molding. They're not stained; they simply have a couple coats of clear spray lacquer.

I think it will depend on what you are trying to do. Klenk makes great tile paint but only in limited colors without spending more than new tiles . So a bit more info please.
