An entry stairway is the perfect place to include family photos in the house. I would not have them all the same size & so perfect in placement as Violet showed. Adding some objects in different shapes here & there such as round mirrors to repeat the circle pattern in the lovely railing. This will take time & should not be done in one day. Take your time & live with the changes made to critique them. You have a very large area to work with & therefore can accommodate many shapes & positions. Don't be afraid of visually overlapping items as you mentioned as with the lamp & the stairway as that just adds more interest. Have fun with it.

Yes, I did read the same thing after your last post. So that particular mirror may be slightly off in width if my math is correct. Good thing about the quatrefoil mirrors, if that is what you chose, you can most likely find another that is wider. I would take some newspaper or something else and cut out a paper version of the mirror in those same measurments. Tape it up with some painter's tape in the space to help you visualize.

The demilune table you have is very nice for the spot. Don't make the mistake of thinking you need to fill the whole wall just because it's tall. Try to keep things in proportion and remember to "decorate where you live". That means hanging artwork, mirrors, etc. as if your ceilings were 8 or 9 feet tall. Whatever you hang over your entry table should be about 2/3 to 3/4 the width of the table and no taller than the height of your door frames. I know it seems like there's going to be a lot of empty space, but that's okay. I moved from a 1949 cape with 7 1/2 foot ceilings to a house with 11' vaulted ceilings and had to learn that things really do look better hung at normal height. The current chandelier seems to be well proportioned for the space and hung at the right height. When you replace it, try to stay to something in that same size range. Congratulations on your new home!

You have so much lovely green outside, and you’ve brought some of it inside, I’d give in the feeling of a garden room. I don’t know what green hues work with your existing trim and the other spaces people will be transiting into, but maybe going to the BM website will answer that. I also don’t know how distinctly green you’d want to go, and whether you would like to add another color (if you like a garden feel). For instance, pink/rose accents or yellow/golden ones or really cool blues. Lastly, I don’t know how you feel about wallpaper in your house, but you don’t appear to have a lot of wall space to cover, so maybe it would be a lovely touch. You’d want to pay a paper hanger to a pro job though
