Thanks, Nancy! Our colors are very similar, yes. So you are going with the ceramic tile, and not the glass? In your pics, the glass tiles are brighter on the edges just like mine were before installation. I guess it's because light comes in thru the front and back and shoots out the sides, for lack of a better way to explain it. Once installed, the glass backsplash looked a tad different than I thought it would. I thought it was going to be closer to white or off white, like the individual uninstalled tiles appeared. Instead, it looks almost grey. But also, I guess I have to consider the fact that the wall of glass tiles is picking up the reflections of the dark countertop and floor? I don't know what it is and it was never cause for any upset feelings, we love it! And think it works just beautifully. Just thought it'd be a tad lighter/off white. Just goes to show you, you never know what all the individual elements you picked out are going to look like until they're all up together! Good thinking on waiting to try and tackle the wet saw project. I'm always envious and proud of DIY folks. I'd love to try a project one day. Learning how to use the wet saw must be a lil scary. Also, those tiles can be pricey. Your cabinets are so cool! And we have the same reeded glass!! Thanks again for posting the link :) ~E

I love the clean, uncluttered look of your home and you've made some great furniture choices. My first thought, though, is that I would try to rework the sofa/sectional placement. It really is unwelcoming looking to me to have the back where it is facing a wall, when it could be oriented to look into the room and out the windows. It seems like if it were placed in the corner under the stairs that it would feel open and invite you to come in and sit. I'd hate to be cooking in the kitchen and have the family or guests with their backs to me. If you are having a TV in another room close by, do you need one in that room, too? If, so placing a 70" unit will probably only work as you have it. But, to me, it's not going to look like a living room but more like a movie theater, which is fine if that's what you're going for. It seems like it won't be a cozy conversation area, though. I might actually flip the rooms and put the dining room where you have the sofa now. I was looking at lights used with dining rooms and ghost chairs and saw this, maybe would work in the living room? Kind of fun. don't know if it would look as good without the colored walls though. And I thought something like these were interesting to consider for over your table:

MCM style sofas can be amazing for sleeping..there are click clack styles, and whatnot. They can look beautiful being incredibly functional at the same time. The caveat-such sofas are usually expensive. Ot they're vintage..and still not cheap. Regular sleeper sofas, the ones that the mattress kinda folds out- are indeed not that comfortable. Couple nights-okay(I'm not talking about kids..kids can sleep anywhere)) Exclusions I personally encountered-was some sleeper sofa by American Leather. Amazing mattress. Real bed like feeling. aesthetically..well, regular sofa. Not too chic. Not too offensive and bulky either. Had no chaise. We do have a sleeper sofa with chaise (sectional. is that what you mean? or do you mean separate chaise?), which we use for watching TV and lounging in family room, and that get used for when we have too many guests (the reason we bought it from the get go), and our guest room is not enough. I like to lounge on it , it's comfortable as a sofa- but as for night sleep-not most conducive for a great sleep. We tried it. I usually have overnight guests not that often, but for a prolonged time when I do ..and if that's your case(relatives and friends coming from another state, or from a different country)-I'd look for something that would satisfy me both aesthetically and in terms of function, and I'd make it my splurge. Or I'd make a point to look for vintage. Has its minuses of course. It can be refurbished, in terms of how clean it is-but delivery is harder, etc. Still, might be worth it. How often you have guests? How long do they stay? what the ages might be? where I won't hesitate to put teenagers-I won't put my Mom for example. . As for the table, I find the most versatile might be a table with a leaf..say mine is oval and sits six, but can be made into round and sit four (I bought it second hand, with a second leaf lost-or else I could sit 8 easily when needed. Would come handy. We rarely entertain but when we do-6 is so not enough. I bring more chairs and all. ) Looks like a great place..congrats!

Wow. Every day ia new day. I don't remember this at all ( but clearly I commented 2 years ago). It's gorgeous and it's great to know that you are still pleased with the flooring.. I put in a different Coretec last summer on most of our first floor and I am really happy with it. Our"walkout" lower level basement has very worn blue carpeting from the previous owner. It's my husband's man cave and the dog hangs there a lot. We don't use the walk out aspect so much any more. When we first got the dog, I would let him out in the super early horus of the morning and it was wonderful not having to get all dressed and decent looking. Toying with replacing the flooring and was wondering about lvp for basment. It might be more $ than I want to spend, but nice to know that you are still pleased wtih it and it is so durable. Looks fantastic. (still)
