The season is really full on now:

I finally managed to get the true color of Possession of Obsession today:

There were many clumps and trios today:

and many more groups, clumps, even some FFOs

You really are going strong. I am in such a hurry for mine to start, at the same time I'm wishing it would hold off. The sooner it starts, the sooner it will be over.

Maryl. City of New Orleans gets better during the day.. Heat does not cause ill effects on CONO., and in fact it seems to thrive on heat. The other newer one I have noticed being impervious to direct hot sun all day is the delicate appearing Sweet Isabella; same at 6:00Pm as 6:00 AM except for being prettier with the recurve. I think LH is either very good or very bad...I am lucky to be on the very good side.Thanks you Nancy, WD always does so well here it has put up a third set of bloom spikes. And I agree about BC...I like the color and the name amuses me. I have bought more than one plant when the name was the tipping point to buy one I like anyway. Thank you Dick. Tuesday blooms and lots of rain yesterday

Thank you all for the comments. I spent most of yesterday tackling the front edge of the rock wall garden bed but gave up before I reached the bench seat area. I did dig out a lot of small seedlings of rudbeckia, lychnis, coneflower (purple I think) and replanted into a back garden space. Not sure if they will take but time will tell. Nancy: I have about 5 maybe 6 of Lori's intros. They always perform well and really grow fast and tall. As you say, nothing real fancy but a good performer. I have to divide mine as they are monsters. signet: Jellyfish Jealousy is listed as a UF. Here is a pic from last year.

This was the first flower on Ruffled Strawberry Parfait X Sonoran Desert Rose. I hope that means it is a late bloomer, as both its parents are. New Tangerine Twist is one of our favorite Klehms. Here is a seedling from it crossed with Susan Ruoff. This was the first flower open on this first year seedling. It is Wolverine X Fruitful Discovery. That's enough for today. Nancy

A really nice group! Navajo Pony is one of my favorites here too. VG Starburst caught my eye, as well as Frieda and Bo Knows. Jerry Hyatt does well here after I moved it. Sometimes, for some inexplicable reason, a plant just does not like a spot, while others flourish there. It had dainty foliage, blooms just out of the foliage there. I moved it a couple of years ago and suddenly foliage got bigger, scapes twice the height, larger blooms.

Since we can't speed them up or slow them down, we just have to enjoy when they decide to take off...it does seem they have taken off very quickly. I couldn't resist posting some of the multiples today. Admittedly I am greatly looking forward to blooms on the new one...I want to see how they look.

I did have a neat discovery today that I was hoping to see. Two years ago, on Easter, my DIL accidentally stepped on a plant. It did not respond well, and no sign of it was seen last year. It was in abed that I moved the daylilies out of to downsize. Well bout four plants came up this year in different areas (I am hoping Photon Torpedo is one of them). Anyway, not a good bloom,but it is Parrot Jungle; alive and it will be moved.

There's a nice variety in this group. My favorites today are Abilene Lillian and Fighting Fire, which are favorites in my own garden too. It looks like Fighting Fire has multiplied well for you. I lost a couple of fans from my clump last winter. but the four I have are rebounding well. I may need to move it closer to the house since it is effected by cold winters.

Another set of gorgeous blooms! Hard to choose a favorite. I do like Lake of Fire and Abilene Lillian. Wild One is also a standout.

I couldn't miss sharing the ones that were blooming so well. Debra, Fighting Fire has increased to seven fans and is doing really well. At the same time, Buffalo Kisses has increased to sic fans and doesn't do anything like as well yet. Sometimes it takes a while for one to take off, and it is the creep year. I am so looking forward to seeing Jelly Roll Morton bloom. Of course it isn't the only one I want to see. I am really looking forward to Mean Green. By the way, Debra. I finally mailed the envelope with your postage...I had put it in my purse and forgotten it, so found it and mailed it yesterday. Grape Twizzler is looking good. Thank you Sherry. I think it may be a huge show then trickles, but we will see.

All are lovely! Possession of Obsession is a beautiful color. Wild One is a lovely blend. I am surprised my husband hasn't purchased that one. I really love Abilene Lillian and Lake of Fire too.

Hi Lori, You mush have been writing when I was. Nancy also commented on Wild One. Your husband and I both like that kind of color. I am just having a lot of fun with all the bloom. and I know it will be spreading everywhere as mine slows. Thanks you for looking and commenting.
