What color pendant lights should I get with dark counter?
Comments (0)We will have Antique Brown granite tops with cream painted cabinets, SS appliances & Brazilian Cherry floors. The granite has chocolate brown, black and pieces of opalescent throughout. What color pendant lights would you suggest for over the breakfast bar? I was thinking of cobalt blue only because my husband LOVES this color or an amber color. Any suggestinos or pics would be surely appreciated. Thank you....See MoreShould I Paint my Tile Counter Black to Match my Shower, or...?
Comments (30)There are downsides to painting the tile, even if it comes out well initially and you don't use the super cheap rustoleum kit. One thing is you have to stay up on the cleaning - using it more frequently but not as abrasively. For example, I wouldn't be able to scrub the grout except for gently, maybe with a toothbrush. Also, this is not a very long term solution, maybe 3-5 years if taken care of. By then I will most likely be ready for something else anyway. To do the shower and tub together (black + white) costs less than $200 plus a weekend or so of my time, which I usually have very little of but I have plenty right now. I am not trying to argue my way of you guy's good logic, but providing more information just in case some comments were directed at cheaper products / perception of long term use (10-15 years). Also, I know a lot of you are professionals or otherwise experienced in these areas so I am still seeking and valuing your input....See MoreShould stain be light or dark with dark counter top?

Comments (4)I would love to add shiplap, but which wall? I would add shiplap to every single wall... of my mother-in-law's house. In all seriousness, the way shiplap caught the public's attention means it was well on its way out of style before it ever caught on. I wouldn't bother with it, you will probably hate it in much less than 12 years. I wouldn't bother trying to spend money to make that kitchen look a little bit better, nor would I pay any money to reface it. There are better options out there for a much more functional kitchen that fits your taste and isn't throwing good money after bad. I would start by posting dimensions here and seeing what this community can come up with. Good luck...See MoreRelated Professionals
