I would suggest you use a rug that covers more of the foyer area...perhaps a tufted wool with and oriental pattern that sort of fits with architecture of your home...a smallish pattern with varied colors will hold up to entry traffic better than a solid...and at the same time a small runner can be purchased in the same color and pattern...I am not sure it needs to match the other rugs ...as the foyer seems big enough to be considered a separate room...with out pictures it is hard to be sure....but the foyer is the introduction to your home and sets the expectations for the rest of the house

I think the main prob is the art and the mirrors above it. Deco is right. too many squares. the art, the mirrors, the glass in the door, the wainscot, the lantern,,,,,too many. try something round or softer. I'd think about bringing the rug further back. let me post a few examples of a console in a entry w/wainscotting and / or you type of console I love this example. notice the rug, the styling, the art, etc. try not to use a square mirror this one is taller, more rectangle, and it's by itself on the wall How about doing a few chairs on the side and one piece of art (larger than the horse) and no mirrors? simple lamp, baskets, rug, got for a rectangular piece of art or mirror that spans the length The sconce idea is a good one. maybe try it for yours? but w/a decent art in the middle

I would not add any more mirrors. In fact,would you consider removing those large mirrors? You could then add interesting artwork, a larger bench,etc. which would allow you to have more of a ” farmhouse” look.

Beautiful home. I think I’d look for a less wide, but taller, chest there. Something that would give some height and provide the storage you need. If it’s not an option to change the table, I’d add a lamp, and other decor for height … pretty pottery jug with branches, or use a stack of books as a base for your sculpture, etc. I wouldn’t worry about the wall being tall and curved, just focus on eye (and a bit above) level things, and adding art on nearby walls.
