Eternal Flame aka A Little Ray of Sunshine grafted on Fortuniana

I was at a friend’s house recently, a fellow rose grower, and noticed his Eternal Flame rose. HUGE, very fragrant blooms with long stems for cutting. I don’t usually like yellow, but this rose was impressive!
When I looked on HMF, it seemed the patent would be 20 yrs old June of this year (in the US). In other countries it seems the patent is already up. I’m thinking I should take some cuttings and try grafting it onto my Fortuniana.
What say the experts? Any advice? Experience with this rose? Thanks!
