Mixed hardware finishes for knobs/faucets
Comments (4)Hi, I asked about this a couple months ago when we started our kitchen. My designer told me I needed to have everything (hardware and faucet) match. I rebeled and after seeing so many beautiful kitchens on this site that didn't follow that rule I decided to go w/ what I wanted. I have oil rubbed bronze hardware w/ a stainless steel (brushed nickel) faucet. I think it looks really great. I'm going to post some pics on here soon. As I was advised...go with what you love/want. =)...See MoreWhat do you think about mixing faucet/hardware finishes?
Comments (5)Thank you all. So the answer seems to be a resounding "yes." Now I have a follow up question. The new window needs hardware and screen. We are painting the window trim similar to the cabinet color (an off white, brookhaven alpine white, which is a little grey). SO, if I go w/ oil rubbed bronze and ss knobs and pulls for the cabinets, should the window hw be stainless or oil rubbed bronze (it is pella, the color is actually "brown," but it seems close enough to the bronze. The softness of the wood was never discussed and this is the first time that I have heard about it. We are almost empty nesters, so this kitchen will not get as much wear and tear as in a family with young kids. So far no gauges or dents or chips. The cabinets were made halfway across the country from where I live, so staining was not done on my premise. The finish on the cabinets looks very even....See MoreNeed help with cabinet hardware: Part B - mixing finishes
Comments (2)I have multiple finishes in my kitchen and I like it that way! My refrig and DW are stainless; my stove is a 1948 O'Keefe & Merritt white enamel with as much polished chrome on it as a 50's Cadillac; the cabinet pulls are polished brass. The faucet on the sink is brushed nickel with polished brass trim, and I have a display above one cabinet of polished antique copper. And it ALL works!...See MoreRelated Professionals
