Electrolux french door door question
Comments (10)We have the EW23BC71IS - essentially, the OP's fridge in SS - and do not have the problem the OP describes. FWIW, our fridge had the legendary icemaker problem and the unit was completely overhauled in the Fall. Sadly, it stopped working after 2 months and, despite it being just out of warranty, Elux agreed to fix it again and a kit was ordered for us. Then, we had a power outage and the icemaker started working again - we called Elux to call off the work and they agreed to cover it should the problem reoccur. We also had the door gaskets replaced because of small tears that were occuring at the top and bottom (this is what seals the centre gap between the 2 doors) and the new ones seem to be holding up much better. Over all, we love the brightness, layout, and features of the fridge. Yes, we'd like to have more confidence in its reliability but we are softening on our condemnation of the brand....See Morechanging basement stairwell door to french doors?
Comments (7)Ok I know this is an old post of mine but does anyone know where in the world 15" wide double french doors (to fit a 30 inch opening) can be found? Home depot has bifolds but I don't want bifolds. I'm looking for ones similar to those posted by lagrant at the bottom of this thread. Prefer glass with lites but even solid 3 panel doors would be fine. Here is a link that might be useful: prior narrow french door posting...See MoreLooking for Sliding Door / French Door Hybrid

You don't have anything that big now because there's no existing opening...just a sliding patio door. Let's say you wanted to get a large piece in now. Here's a video of Tommy on This Old House doing a patio door install. At 6:30 he has the frame in and installs the fixed and sliding parts of the door. This is a couple minute job and the last part of the install. Removing both would also be a quick procedure. And you'd have a very large opening for the rare time you'd need one. A couple more minutes and everything is back together. It's that simple.; You just saved a ton of money. It's not as 'ordinary' as opening two swinging doors, but it gets the job done in the moment with zero negative repercussions. Moving a big piece of furniture takes several or at least a couple strong people who would be capable of lifting the patio doors out and in again. You can use this video to make your new sliding door wider too. If you want an outswing French door the hinge pins can be locked in with a set screw for each pin....See MoreBi Fold Door Reviews FoldADoor
Comments (14)Got a bid from Marvin doors $17k (Wood) and Panoramic Doors (Vinyl) $10k for a 10’ by 8’ door. Panoramic doors have 10 year warranty and customer service so far has been amazing! Seeing the Marvin door in person I was extremely unimpressed especially for the price. I like the fact that it was explained that Panoramic doors carry the weight at the bottom not the top. I was originally concerned about overall structure with such a large door. I’m finding it hard to reach anyone at Nana wall and getting a quote online is a pain....See Moregreendane
