My first thought was light and colorful, and when I looked at the inspiration pictures that Yayagal posted I felt even more that this was such a beautiful way to go. Fill this area with colors that are light and glow, no browns and grays and beiges, just wonderful colors. They are available, but sadly so few people have the courage to go in that direction. Surroundings that are so beautiful would give such happiness. I know from my own experience that beautiful and uplifting surroundings can really help when other things in life, such as one's health, are far from optimal.

I'd add Interior Define to your list of places to shop. Really good quality for the pricepoint. As a side note,I am not a fan of the chair combo you posted (not the shapes together or the colours) but it only matters that you are.

Honestly, I don't like it either lol, I just found it online and thought the size could work in the space. But I think i'll need to look at other photos to see what styles will work.

Your windows say "tropic" so light and airy sounds like the way to go. That is a lovely room and will be so enjoyable when you find your "right" pieces.

The chairs are very different in size and presence. I like 2 and the much wider and taller # 1. Are you sticking with a 72' sofa?

I'm hoping to stick with the 72' sofa, but i can go up to 78'. I don't want the sofa to take up a large portion of the space cause I also want to maintain the walkway leading to the back of the house.

There are many sofas in that range. The reason I asked is because your first chair would look really big near most 72" sofas and,worse,make the sofa not look as amenable to multiple people sitting in it as it actually is :-) I have obviously made a study of all this...since we entertain many people alot and my spaces are mostly on the smaller side. Basically I need 3 on a couch often and it happens all the time...and they still come back!

I feel the same way. Number 1 is out. But i think number 2 may work. I don't really want large furniture in this area.

Now i need to find a sofa.

Would a contrasting colour sofa be best. Ie. something a bit lighter.

The rug that I chose is on the lighter side which i think will work well.

Odd, just noticed Chair # 3 is not the same in both pictures. Missing the wood arm. I also doubt chair #2 is only 20 inches wide.

Great catch. Thanks for that. I just checked and there are two versions of the chair, one with the arm and one without. I definitely like the one with the arms.
