More tiling help, please (spacing, grout type, etc.)
Comments (7)Well the niche is done and while it is no thing of beauty, I think I can live with it. In hindsight I should have tried harder to get marble shelves or gone with glass. He really seemed to have trouble tiling the 2x4's that made up the shelves. What is bothering me is that twice I asked them not to grout the corners (they didn't understand the term change of plane) -any corners. I pointed to where I meant and said the niche as well - no grout. Well, the GC told them I only meant inside corners so they did the outside corners and for some reason all the inside corners in the window as well as all around the outside of the niche and window where the bullnose meets the outside tile. So do I go up there now and try to dig it out or leave it and hope it doesn't crack? Ugh, again. Tilers can't come back until Friday....See MoreHow to maximize living room sitting space. Comments (3)There are two posts on this, and I'm not reading the comments on the other one. So off the top of my head in general I would say this ..... when you have a long room, break it up into TWO areas. That way you can pull your couch up closer to face the TV to take up what is now wasted space, and still have another space behind it for another seating arrangement ... depending on how much space you have that may be two chairs with a small table between or it may be four chairs in a circle around a round coffee table....See MoreHelp with furniture placement in outdoor space!
Comments (3)IMO we need an actual floor plan to scale. What I notice now is too much conversatioal seating not connected to each other and no dining space . As for a fire pit get a gas oe in a coffee table type then there is no big issue since most cities do not encourage real wood fire pits . Ialso would like to see how this space relates to the one above . I do agree the ;oungers do not belong in this space. I think of outdoor space to really mimic indoor so a DR, a LR and a “kitchen” and those spaces should be done for how you use the space like the grill near the DR but also near the indoor kitchen....See MoreHelp Small space Furniture
Comments (2)Thank you Judy! Ive never seen a layout like the one in your picturet! I like it : ) How do I google (terms) or what do I call that type of layout so I can see more inspiration? As far as now- Thank you we are working with what we have. We are trying to get away from the boho look. So I took out the wood coffee table and temporarily covered the morrocan shag rug to give me an idea...that this space could be more modern. Our living room flows into the sunroom (behind the fireplace). I added a picture that has measurements from our renovation. Hope that helps? Thank you for the advice again!...See MoreRelated Professionals
