Experience with Dark, Solid engineered quartz? X-post in baths
Comments (9)I have Caesarstone Pebble, which is medium gray, it's been in about 4 months now, no scratches. The concept of a darker color being more scratch-prone sounds like nonsense to me; engineered quartz is 93% quartz, with color and resin added. I don't see where the color could possibly affect the integral hardness of the quartz. Let me guess--the sales person sells something else that he net him/her a bigger commission, right?...See MoreAnyone have white/light silestone (quartz) counters? Help please!
Comments (4)Thank you for all the positive support! I really appreciate it - I think the freak out was mostly about the stress of building a house in general. Now that we are in the final stretches the decisions have really piled up on us. Comments (6)Sandy, We are glad to hear you are considering Silestone in your project. We wanted to let you know that Silestone Quartz is manufactured in Spain, using Brenton technology. Silestone is a very durable product, both stain and scratch resistant. Also, the use of Microban in Silestone was discontinued in 2007. If you have any other questions, let us know! We are happy to help. Additionally, here is a great photo of Lyra used in a kitchen, hope it helps you in making your decision....See MoreLG Minuet or Silestone Calacatta Gold Quartz?
Comments (9)We are currently remodeling our kitchen. Installing bright white shaker cabinets, and chose Silestone Calacatta Gold. I think I looked at every quartz option out there...I was driving myself crazy. I didn't wan't anything too bold, or too busy, or too dark. I like that it reads more "white" from a distance, and you notice the lighter veining once closer. We will be using a light gray matte finish back splash tile, champagne bronze pulls, and lighter wood look vinyl plank flooring. Still nervous about how it will all look once completed, since we're piecing it all together...but we'll see soon!...See Morebeefbowl
