Rubber Plant - how to get from this, to this...

After much deliberation, I've chosen a variety of Ficus Elastica and took a gamble of ordering it online. Absolutely thrilled that I did, I'm in love with the huge (they really are massiv dramatically dark leaves. My question now though, is how to side stem (never done this before) and propagate (also never done this before!) to get to a finished plant I love the shape of. I'm thinking I should be starting now, while it's young to point it all in the right direction from the beginning.

It's an indoor plant, in the UK. I'm new to most houseplant keeping - this is my first 'proper' plant that needs more care than just watering! :D

Picture 1 is my plant, not too leggy just yet and I'd like to get it looking somewhere between pictures 2&3. As tall as 3 but a bit bushier like in 2.

So really, my questions are:

1. If my target look is created by multiple stems, how is best to get to that? Propagate now from leaves, or wait until my plant gets tall enough to take from the top and do that twice?

2. Is it best to have one 'trunk' with multiple stems coming from that (don't think I've seen that before), or multiple stems all coming from the soil separately?

3. Should I side stem now for new leaves, or wait until I have the right number of stems, then bush it out with extra leaves? I've found Tiffany's progress pictures here: [https://www.houzz.com/discussions/how-to-force-side-shoots-on-a-rubber-tree-dsvw-vd~3052597[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/how-to-force-side-shoots-on-a-rubber-tree-dsvw-vd~3052597) very useful, it's good to see what will happen as a beginner!

4. To root hormone or to not root hormone?!

Sorry for so many questions, I'm a newbie full of enthusiasm!
