Well my wife doesn't want a true sectional and not sure I do either. The sofa / chaise is somewhat like a sectional and it should look nice and balanced in the center of the bay window (the one we want is actually nearly same size). The furniture salesman suggested against the chair on the same side / in front of the chaise like we have in some of those examples. He said it could block view but we did test that out with dining chairs and if all turned to TV you will see the person to the side but they won't be blocking. I mean the chair there is effectively the same as what a sectional would be. Just not connected like one. Which is also nice because it should leave the window more open to the space. But with your sectional suggestion and that picture... It alleviates one fear: will a sofa and chaise that size (106") feel too large and heavy spanning most of that wall? I'm thinking it should be fine. It's only an extra 2 feet in width over normal 7 foot sofa. The furniture salesman suggested the following: 1. Sofa and 2 chairs (no more than that). I know the other poster liked the 4 chairs but I do think it might be too much. 2. Sofa/chaise and 1 chair. That one chair would be similar to your picture in that it would be across from chaise section where there is more space. Both options are similarly balanced. Both have 5 seats. The sofa + 2 chairs benefits in that 4 of those 5 have arm rests and only one is in a center seat. The sofa/chaise + 1 chair forces 2 people to center seats. However it also gives better laying/lounging opportunity. For a 6th seat you could add a 3rd chair near the window on left in either scenario I guess. Not sure which is "better" in those examples. Anyway I'm rambling. Just trying to weigh this out. It is tougher than I thought it would be. Thanks for replies!

I like btydvn's comment about potentially having 4 chairs around a table. If you like having a sofa in there for guests, what do you think about getting one that is smaller and with narrow legs? It would make the space feel a lot more open and your eyes wouldn't get stuck on the current sofa right when you enter the house.

@Nicole Charlene Davis....you have 17 posts going for one dilemma. You are all over the place and all those wonderful responses you get, you don't pursue. As said by houzzers on all those posts, you need someone to help you get the house in order. You must have access to someone in your area to help you with the clutter and cleaning. Your Mom moved out; your daughter is moving in; your brother was a designer; house is in disarray. It is too much for houzz to offer you solutions that you can do all by yourself.
