Help choosing a rug for our living room

Hi there,
We just got a new couch and we're looking for a rug for to complement it. Some of the considerations:
- Overall style is mid century
- Couch is gray so looking for some pop of color, while still keeping a muted color scheme
- Have a dog and a yard so even though we're a no-shoe household, we can't realistically have a white/beige rug
- Edit: Trying to keep it under $400 for an 8x10

Comments (9)Is there an eat in kitchen or would the dining space be the all-the-time eating space? I like Judy's layout if there is another more casual eating area (breakfast/lunch). traipsing across living space (from kitchen) for every meal doesn't seem functional. That said, walking into your fireplace area as a LR isn't ideal either. I think it could have 2 chairs and be cozy but the TV and living space would have to be across the way. 5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoesale has this great tool where you can insert rugs into your uploaded photo. I just grabbed the first interesting rug that came up in the search.
Make sure you get the proper size, bigger is better.
If you aren't sure about an online rug, order the smallest size available to check the color and texture. It will be much easier to return if you don't like it.
