Comments (30)@Z Y the white tiles are from lowes in two different sizes, they're called satorini white glossy tile. The center accent tile is from home depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ivy-Hill-Tile-Pacif-White-Shells-11-81-in-x-11-81-in-x-2-mm-Pearl-Shell-Mosaic-Tile-EXT3RD102059/300915818 i got the cabinets custom made.. which really wasnt that expensive considering......See MoreAre 3 small bathrooms or 2 large bathrooms better for resale value?
Comments (22)Dear Weedyacres: One bedroom is 13 x 25, the other is 12 x 18. The other bathroom which is not in the drawing serves two bedrooms and one of those bedrooms is really tiny. On the other side of it is the dining room, so no way to make that smaller. I guess the only possibility at this point would be to loose the tiniest bedroom and turn the current master bath into one with the spiral shower, but I don't like that idea at all because we mostly heat that part of the house with the fireplace and I wouldn't want to loose a bedroom in the main section. Plus I think that really might affect resale value. Probably best to leave as is. I am so thankful for everyone's input because I think it's helping me to see that the spiral shower is a no go. Actually, the house isn't the main feature for me. The main feature is the two acres and lots of woods and the sun room with wall to ceiling windows. And the room we will use for dancing which actually brings me to another problem. The house is on a slab and we want hardwood. Sounds like engineered is the only way to go. We keep this room about 50 degrees and we want something that won't hurt our feet like tile would do. Thanks again for your help. I really do appreciate it very much....See MoreHelp with outdated bathroom!!!! Paint & decor suggestions
Comments (2)Thank you - I appreciate the suggestion. None of the greys I sampled worked so far but it’s possible I had the wrong shade- I will pick up a color chip of the grey you suggested. I realize my counters and tile clash - unfortunately I didn’t notice that when I had a small sample. I knew it wasn’t perfect but I was wanting to stay away from the pinkish beige and the taupe seemed to coordinate better than the grey. I should have gone simpler, with a shade of white instead of the taupe but hindsight is 20/20. Now I am trying to tie it all together somehow. Thanks again. Do you have any suggestions for towel/accessory colors??...See MoreRemodeling '80s/'90s house. Next up- Small Bathrooms
Comments (4)See if you can use standard off the shelf vanities instead of something custom and put the money you save there toward complete retiling. It probably is best to rip it all out if you're going in. We found we had a very small leak in a shower floor in a small bathroom (dating from 30-40 years previous) that we didn't know about, but it was dripping water into the ceiling below very slowly over time which is never a good thing. I have to say I wouldn't want an acrylic shower/tub combo in my bathroom, but there is one in our secondary bathroom where we live now and it's really not bad. It's a Kohler. I think it's been there 25 years and it still looks new. So that really might be a good, inexpensive option for a guest bath as Patricia says. They're easy to clean....See MoreUser
