Opinions on Kitchen Cabinet
Comments (30)Painting begins tomorrow. I didn't use fill for the grain, but I did use primer and two coats regular BM paint. It was present a little on the left sample. For my second sample, I primed again and another coat of BM paint. It was not present at all. My painter is using an even better primer and two coats of aura paint. I am ok with a tiny bit of grain. I used two coats of aura paint and no primer on an oak wall unit and ended up with a teeny tiny bit of grain. I will let you know how it goes....See Moremove kitchen cabinet hardware, without painting cabinets
Comments (2)There are all kinds of high-end finishes that can be done with covering wood holes, and it usually involves an artistic level of painting with multiple colors to match the grain in a faux-painting style. For just a solid color, there's not much you can do to hide it if you are just going to do a wood filler....See MoreNeed opinion on Color of Kitchen Cabinets
Comments (10)It’s a lot of cabinets. What I’d try to do is just break up the same ness that exists now. What I would also do is try NOT to undertake such a large paint project due to the age ( no drawers) and wanting to leave the counters and splash as you indicate. So what I would do is get some glass doors on chosen uppers.... .( standard honey or praline on maple and source the glass locally) And proceed w the deep paint color ( black or near black) on the small island . Change the hardware, and paint the walls and get a better lighting plan Especially....See MoreOpinions re: Kitchen cabinet door replacement companies?
Comments (28)no need to throw out the solid oak cabs. some were made very well. once you reface, fill the grain and paint, they will look brand new. And, if need be, you can always paint the inside and get some new wood shelves. Or, try one of those nice contact papers if your inner shelves are grungy. Are you sure of your Fridge width? I traded out my old Samsung fridge and bought a Cafe countert depth fridge. it fit in the same spot. They should be the same width. it's just the depth that is smaller. this was during construction, but you can see how it fits in the same spot. ( and it does sit further back once pushed in. maybe an inch or two) in fact, I think I still had a bit of room on the side where you see the cookie sheet. and the micro was put below this wall oven. used to be two drawers here. the micro is the GE Profile 1.5. if you go this route, make sure you get a built in and look at the rough in dimesions. there needs to be a cerain amount of clearance. luckily I had this spot that was deep enough and already had electrical....See MoreHome Interiors with Ease
