Assuming you can keep the color consistency of the stucco lots, I like the idea of the stucco before the shingles to avoid problems on the shingles. Our stucco crew tried to lay down tar paper but it was still a problem. The type of contract you have may determine who gets to choose the ordering, but I would suggest that get your eaves painted first. We had a little overspray on the stucco and there is no easy way to clean it. If the stucco crew splashes stucco on the eaves, that can scraped and repainted at the expense of the stucco crew. If your builder is insisting on paiting first, why can't you use a first color that is close as the primer and then come back with the final color at a later time? Maybe I am missing something..

This was my first post on this forum and I'm really not sure I ever would again. I am shocked by how rude some of these comments are. I still can't figure out what is so difficult about my question. My brother is being awesome and remodeling a kitchen he doesn't have to, letting us design the whole thing and triples his cabinet budget when asked. All he asks for in return is that I order them quickly. I just wanted to see what other options besides the Belmont was available in that price point, besides IKEA. I get it, people like IKEA, it's not an option, I've said that, so stop arguing the point. In 20 plus responses I see 2 that actually address my question.

Thank you all for the suggestions! We plan to tackle the carpeted area, just looking for flooring to match the rest of the house. It is right by the front door, but the section was odd and the color was a light beige. Also, new backsplash and countertops will be added to the kitchen so thanks for pointing that out! I plant to remove that mantle and paint the brick around the fireplace. Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely post pictures along the way.
