Help...Which One Do You Choose?
Comments (7)I just added Journey's End. It is doing fine so far, but it hasn't colored up yet. I have a Stained Glass, but I think I got a dud. It nearly died last year. I like all those plantaginea sports so I will replace it if it doesn't take off this year. Tortilla Chip has really grown for me. I just walked out to see which of mine glow, and right now Golden Sculpture and Piedmont Gold are sure pretty. You have got to have a Sum and Substance if you want big and showy. Mine is finally getting some size, and I love it. If you want speckled, Revolution has them, but it isn't a great grower for me. I can't think of a big speckled off hand. Nice to see another Texas hosta grower. Mary...See MorePlease help us choose and design lighting and bling for kitchen
Comments (36)After much searching on LightingDirect.com, I think I have found a large island pendant that will speak to the island fan. I have also found my favourite semi flush light (most of them are not nice). We will have two semi flush lights in the kitchen for ambient light. These semi-flush lights offer uplight illumination. The large island pendant will off down lighting task light. There are matching wall sconces to go on the decorator plate wall, and small pendants for in front of the windows and/or over the clean-up sink area. The sconces and small pendants are from the same lighting collection as the semi-flush lights. The big drum pendant for over the island is a different lighting company. Here are my favourites. Please let me know what you think, and especially if you think the island light will go well with the island vent (be in balance too). Thanks, Carol Large light to balance the island fan for downlighting task light for over the 10 foot island (light is 19 inch wide with three lights) Made by Minka Lavery Kitchen semi-flush for general ambient light (gives up lighting to kitchen). Made by Maxim from their Finesse collection. Possible sconce on wall with decorator plates (goes with the semi-flush above). Made by Maxim from the same Finesse collection. Possible small pendants for area in front of windows and 1 or 2 over sink peninsula. Made by Maxim from the same Finesse collection. Now I need to calculate lumens (to make sure I have enough light and not too much), and fiddle with the pot light placement. I also need to find a way to Photoshop these lights into my kitchen to see if I am comfortable with the visual clutter. Carol...See MorePlease, please help me choose lighting for my kitchen.
Comments (6)Beautiful start to this kitchen! Here is a fixture I would recommend from Restoration Hardware. The brass is a bit brighter than what you have posted, but that can add a modern flair that will tie in to all the other more traditional lighting. Also with your wall colors, the brass would look great! RH Link (Click here) Let me know what you think!...See MorePlease help! Which lights would you choose for this open concept?
Comments (5)Also, here are a few more idea pictures...we have this table for the dining area. and We have these kind of slip covered chairs, in a similar, light color... And we will have that light, too, but in the rectangle shape. This is in the dining room below... I will have iron rods and linen curtains that will go with the slipcovered chairs. For the entry, I was thinking something like this, and then maybe a smaller version for the island pendants, but will that bee too matchy, matchy? I still have to find something for the banquette area. Or I could do a clear type of pendant for the kitchen island like this... and then a small, iron with candle chandelier for the banquette. Maybe something Like this...but in black... Or What do you think??? Thanks!...See MoreRelated Professionals
