can we see the entire house to get an idea what it looks like? you're showing us a small patch w/blue paint. Don't know what we can do w/that. they all look fine.

This is our house. And below is the neighbors where we got inspiration to go dark with white trim (there’s is dark grey and used to be identical to ours).

you could also do a black or dark charcoal. w/the white trim, brick and a red door, would look very nice. I'd also consider doing some copper roof tops over both bay windows.

I would try a blue that's a little lighter and a little more gray so it doesn't look black or too intense in certain lights.

I will check some lighter colours like Needlepoint Navy.

I am planning on doing my island in Indigo Batik. Never thought it looked purple … but I understand based on your comparisons.

We are also planing on painting our exterior in SW Denim. We didn’t want to go too dark.

Of your swatches I like the second and fourth. The Naval is looking a little purple to me which I've seen it go that direction before if the lighting is just right. The third one looks too royal/bright.

I'm thinking about Gale Force because I've read that Naval can go on really bright. Also, evidently you need to select exterior paint much darker and greyer than you think because once the sun comes out, you don't want the house to look like a giant blueberry.

this is Britannia blue. it's a BM color but it can sort of help you compare a chip with a house.

That one looks grey to me? but it's pretty. Rainstorm looks good on the chip but I wonder if it would go on bright.

I think we’ve settled on Gale Force. We’ve bought so many test cans and they are either to light or to purple. We’re going with Alabaster for the white trim.

Now I’m stuck on which red for the front door. I’ve always wanted a red front door and I’m trying to find one that will mute the pinkness in the faded brick. Any suggestions?

So um...since nobody has brought this up. Is that stucco? You can't really paint that usually....unless you want a moisture transition disaster in your walls.

I’ve never heard of not being able to paint stucco. They make paint especially for stucco. Born and raised out west and stucco homes are painted all the time there with no issues.

I spoke with multiple stucco masons and all signed off on the paint we used. As pink_peony said there are so many stucco homes out this way, all that have been painted without issue for years. I had also read concerns about painting stucco online but could not find a single stucco mason or professional painter that said there was an issue as long as the correct paint is used.

why would you not be able to paint stucco? Every house in our area is stucco and they are all painted
