You’re welcome. I think it could be a nice idea. But would need to be sized well, as I mentioned. I am not sure which furniture arrangement you decided to use - but here it is with this arrangement. ( I’m sorry; I think I used the wrong pic on one above. ) A number of the rug sites have a visualizer tool available. The ”see it in your room” feature. Very user friendly. RugsUSA, Rugs.com, RugsDirect.com, Crate&Barrel and there are others who also have this tool. So you can try out various looks in your space.

I agree with Beverly and would add avoid hanging any chandelier too high. It’s a common mistake. Bottom of chandelier should be around 30-33” above your table. It’s a pretty space but has some challenges due to walkways and openings. If you keep that plant in the dining room get an elevated pot for it. Needs to be much higher. A taller plant would be the ticket. Wait til you get window treatments done because you might not have enough room for anything in that corner. But, a large plant on end of sofa between living and dining room could benefit both rooms.

I think you need a larger rug. The current one is not big enough to ground the strong forms of the sofas. The pattern is too strong. Is 9x12 bigger than your current rug? Here is a nice wool rug in blue:
