that type of fungus ... at height.. usually means a very significant large historical wound .. with associated interior rotting ... of which i can NOT see on this pic ... one might suggest you dont rely on WWW strangers to define what you insert in your mouth and eat ... if you want to play with shrooms.. i suggest you find a local club or such.. and learn about them ... ken

Ok so i want to grow mushrooms. I Know how ive got info, any kind of culture would be great, Liquid, Spore syringes... W/e Just some kind of Mushroom. (edible mind you) Like shiitake, oyster, morel, ect. I got a few things to trade not much Justinterested! Cheers

In my opinion as an organic gardener (for 40 years--back when we all were considered weirdos & kooks), I would not advise the use of any kind of "Miracle-grow" (actually the brand name is Miracle-Gro)on anything! I would instead urge everyone to support the smaller, truly organic companies that do not have the Big Bucks it takes to advertise their products. They are rarely found in the big box stores, but are readily available online and even locally sometimes if you really care enough about the health of your family, your soil, and the earth to search them out. And I thought the following was interesting--kind of indicative of the fact that the chemical companies like Scott's resent the little people like us gardeners horning in on "their" territory. (Kinda like the big pharmaceutical companies are unhappy with those of us who prefer to use alternative medicine as much as possible!) when i did seeds.. i learned to sterilize all media... to avoid issues like this ... and frankly.. it really didnt matter what the bag claimed: http://www.coopext.colostate.edu/4DMG/Soil/sterile.htm trees are very different than say.. veg OR HOUSEPLANTS ..... especially in regard to media .... have you researched this ... or did you just buy what was available ... it might not be imperative at the seed sprouting stage ... but it can become very important in the long run .... most trees like a sip a water.. and then near total drainage ... and near drying in between those sips ... a media that retain too much water can be A DETRIMENT .. and a lot of MG stuff stays to wet for such [mostly because its sold for veg and houseplant uses] there is a tree forum.. and we have a few peeps who do this particular type of thing ... and i dont mean grow mushrooms.. lol ... you might also try the fruit forum ....
