window world problems
Comments (22)I just want everyone to know that the picture of the window that hartford has put up is not a sherfield window. while true that window world uses alside windows the sherfield is the base model window which is not pictured. what is pictured is the top of the line window which has a better u factor rating. the frame is much wider and is designed so that if the homeowner like me has shutters the 501 or 601 which is the wide window that is pictured on the right will still allow you to tilt the window out to clean it. if you get the 201 which is the medium grade window or the sherfield (which is not pictured) your windows will hit the frame of the shutter and you wont be able to clean your windows. also the 501 or 601 will allow you to upgrade to a triple pane instead of a double pane. while it is true that there is less glass to see out of, the window will save you money on energy because there is less glass. the 501 has the slope sill the 601 doesnt. what is pictured is the 601 so dont let a guy who clearly has no idea what he is talking about change your mind about window world. i do not work for window world but i had those guys show me all the windows and the salesman came to my house 3 times before i made my mind up. i got 4 quotes they were about 700 bucks less. foam does come from the factory on the ww windows however if there are big gaps between window and frame you should get your installer to you foam spray. the 201 501 and 601 model windows are fully welded together. also there are a lot of companys that use alside windows not just window world. again i do not work for window world. i am a car saleman. i took there paperwork home from a homeshow and studied on it and surfed the web before i made my choice. i am sure that ww does have its issues but i mean really who doesnt. i hope this has helped some of you out....See MoreSliding Patio Door - Window World Price Tempting!
Comments (34)We had Window World windows installed on our entire house. We love them! I ran across this when I was searching for WW to contact them about installing a door. I had to comment. The windows look great. The installers were on time, professional, and did a wonderful job. Definitely not " drug addicts " mentioned in an earlier post. 10 years later and absolutely no problems. I do not work for WW, nor am I affiliated with them in any way other than being a satisfied customer. Why would you think that anyone who leaves a positive comment must be working for the company? Ridiculous. It seems that a few are going out of their way to discredit the company with a mouth full of sour grapes. Maybe they work for overpriced, horrible pushy salesmen, competitors...See MoreHelp! What color(s) to paint trim on this small, older brick home?
Comments (0)We just installed new Window World windows (using their "beige" trim) and will be putting a new roof, soffit and fascia on this small brick house. Would love to receive your suggestions on color(s) to make this home pop. The new roof will be architectural shingles in "Estate Grey" which is a blend of medium and dark grey shingles. We will be painting the new soffit and fascia. It looks like the old soffit and fascia was painted white. We will be repainting the window trim (which is currently an unknown dark creamy beige which does not look particularly good with the new window trim color). We will be repainting the shutters (which are currently dark New Orleans green which does look good with the brick--we just want to consider other colors for a new look). We want to change the color of the (concrete) porch landing and steps (currently painted a dark brick red). Our painter has suggested a dark grey for the landing and steps--a nod to the color of the new roof. The screen door is old--but still usable, so we will need to repaint it. The front door (which you can barely see in the photo) is the same dark creamy beige as the window trim and will need to be repainted. The old copper gutters will be coming off. The iron railing will remain, and it will also be painted -- probably the same color as whatever we paint the shutters. No one in the family has an eye for this, so any suggestions for color of soffit, fascia, window trim, shutters and porch would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Anne in Baton Rouge...See MoreProvia Windows vs Window World
Comments (9)Miter Brands owns Sunrise, Milgard and MI to my understanding. The Sunrise name is no longer used and has been rebranded under MI in the v4000 and V5000 series. Window World is just an installation company, like me they buy wholesale from whoever they want and do not produce anything. Far as I know the V series and Milgard are still built at thebsame plants on the same extrusions as before and are superior products to Mi. Good or bad this is the nature of the business and will likely be the fate of many more when owners of these smaller companies die or sell out. Kind of like the auto boom ,there were a staggering amount of US auto manufactures and now we got 2....See MoreWindow Pro
