You haven't posted any pics of your room or the furniture you're talking about, so this is just one more kind-of-guessing opinion. IMO, though, a brown leather sofa is a classic piece in a neutral color. I like that, and the leather is practical, too. Khaki is also a neutral color and would work well with the leather sofa and is a practical color for upholstered seating, as well. My only concern is a possible clash with the wall color. Will they work well together? Is repainting the room an option? White chairs will add a lot more contrast to the room, but how will they stand up to the use they'll get? Do you have dogs or kids that might make the white impractical in the long term? How will you use them yourselves? On an everyday basis, white may quickly become dirty . . . or it may not, depending on the usage. With the khaki colored chairs, you can easily add color, pattern and contrast with accessories, art work, throw pillow, rugs, lamps, etc. I always like to add black as well as a color to a room with brown furniture. My own family room has a brown leather sofa, along with one matching brown leather chair and one dark green leather and wood recliner. I had no problem adding color, contrast and texture in there and it looks anything but dull,IMO. You can add color the same way with the white chairs, too, but are you ready for that much contrast? Again, it's just my opinion, but I think you'll need to add a lot more white to the room to balance out the two white chairs with the brown sofa and tan(khaki?) walls. I think that it could be done, and done very well, if you put your mind to it . . . and if you want that dark/white contrast. It's totally what makes you personally happiest. Anyhoo, just a few more things to think about before you buy. The bottom line as I see it is finding good comfortable, practical chairs. In the end, what you're really going to appreciate is that your chairs are actually very comfortable and enjoyable to sit in and that they're made well to last. Lynn

I like you leather, it works with the stone fireplace; possibly stain the mantle a dark color to coordinate with the leather and the curtains. You could possibly add a pair of lounge chairs, one in corner by TV and one opposite it on the corner of the sofa....this will allow more seating and also allow the Hubs chair to stay in place for TV viewing. Here are three rooms that might inspire you.....the room below has some interesting elements to accentuate the height; it also has a nice furniture arrangement; if you could find another leather chair to match the one you have then add a fun color chair in the corner it would look pretty stylin'....and there are a lot of accessories in this room you could apply to your room beside the art....painted ceiling, hanging chandelier, large entertainment center that helps to balance out the large wall. This is a great Pit area with a lot of seating and a simple design plan that really looks welcoming. Lots of colorful pillows and a mirror go a long way for style in this room Beautiful use of color to soften up the leather pieces in the room and simply done with curtains and again pillows and white paint for contrast and architectural style.....the small area rug really adds some punch to the room for a nominal price.....this would involve investing in a love seat that matches or coordinates with the leather....color match or contrast would work well.

Nice space! I realize this might be considered heresy in some circles, but I would think about painting the brick wall (same light color as the other walls). That will brighten the space. Regarding seating, do you want leather? That limits color options somewhat. If not, the sky is the limit! Since changing all the seating incolves many decisions, maybe start with just the sofa, leaving the recliners for later?
