Trading seeds is a fun way to add new varieties of plants to your flowerbeds without breaking the bank. Before offering seeds for trade, I typically Google the botanical name and include as much information on the label as possible, including botanical name, common name, cultivar name, height, zone hardiness, light/soil/water requirements, bloom time/length plus any other pertinent information that will fit on a standard mailing label. You'll find the seed quantity information in the FAQs but I typically trade no less than 24 seeds or an eighth teaspoon if they're too tiny to count. Foxglove, butterfly bush, cardinal flower and a few other seed types are really tiny. Welcome to the wonderful world of growing from seed!

Thanks for your comments...and now to answer some questions. Ellie, yes that is Niobe clematis with Graham Thomas rose. I love the deep, saturated purple of it with the yellow. Mantis, the gold/yellow rose in photo #13 is 'Caramella'. Other roses: Photo #5/cream-colored rose is 'Rokoko'. Photo #8 coral-pink rose is 'Lafter'. Purple rosebush in photo # 11 is 'Charles de Mills' the old gallica rose. Photo #12 (pale pink) is 'Mayor of Casterbridge'. Next-to-last photo of pale cream rose is 'Windermere'. What about adding crown molding to the walls above the cabs? Then there is something there for visual interest but not as busy as a collection of something-or-other? Kitchens can look cluttered so easily - pots, pans, food, utensils, phones, papers, etc - that leaving that area clear, except for some crown, might be restful for the eye. You've done a nice job in your kitchen already. It's so much more pleasing than the before shot. Now a Disclaimer: I have crown molding on my cabs & the wall, both painted BM vanilla ice cream. I love, love, love it and how it looks against my wall color. Something up there if I happen to glance up but it's not busy & drawing my eye up. Or needing to be occasionally taken down & dusted/washed. Another thought:you'll have to buy/trade/create the whole collection at once to fill in the space. That might get expensive, especially if your 'heart' isn't really into the collection of items. P.S. And just what do you think you are doing climbing up on the counter-tops placing those blue items? You have a baby in the house - monkey see, monkey do - you know.
