I'm not suggesting yanking it out or anything. If nothing else, they look good and healthy. It's more that at this time of year, I have the time to walk around and notice things, and wonder out loud, as it were. Later on, I'll be too busy (I have a seasonal business that gets very busy from early June onward) to be observant, much less move anything around. :) They will get a lot of sun in that spot (morning sun until about 1 pm), so will get as black as they can. coolplantsguy, I've noticed that variability in PP before. I bought about 20 in quart size about 10 years ago to edge a bed, not really paying much attention when I picked them out as to whether they matched each other. Sometime later I noticed that I had at least 3 kinds that looked different, mostly in the gloss of the leaves, but also in color and shape.

Do you need that tall white armoire, since you already have the built-in drawers and the large closet? If yes, then I would put the tall dresser where the head of the bed is now. If there is room, I would put the crib on the wall you first suggested, between the window and the built-ins. I would get a changing pad for the top of the built-in and use that as the changing table. It will be very convenient in the middle of the night when you are sleepy to just move to the left and change her, rather than taking her into the bathroom. I would try the rocker and ottoman in the corner where the windows meet. A perfect place to sit with the baby. Congrats on the new addition!

I can't wait to get them up, not only because they are black-out (longer naps?!?!) but because they are white with punch/hot pink french tassel fringe. I have had them waiting since we moved in to get them up! @ThreeBeez, not overstepping at all! This is my second and I agree with all you mention. This chair is temporary, as is the table that is next to it. Those belong in the master. But there will be an upholstered rocker and table that flows soon! We also had her light put on a dimmer and we have a nightlight which is more than enough for middle of the night feedings. As for the changing area, there is a shelf on the bottom with a basket that holds the diapers/wipes, etc. Appreciate your help!! @allison, I have wanted this Jenny Lind crib for so long! With our son, we were in a small 1 bd apt and converted 1/2 the dining room to a nursery. Since space was limited, we bought a mini-crib. We sold it once he grew out of it and with our daughter I was able to get my Jenny Lind! So nice you still have yours. The child's rocker in the pictures is now in my son's room. The green floral slipper chair is staying in the room and I will move it around as needed but I love the idea of a reading nook in the alcove where the changing table is. Unfortunately the changing table doesn't fit on the wall where the slipper chair is so the only option now is either the nook in front of the window (where it is in the last set of pics) or angled, which I will show you below. @bac, that is what I really want, for the white shelves to be between the windows, but the ceiling is too short there. The white shelves have to stay on the wall where it is currently. I can turn the crib perpendicular, which I will try, but it might block the walking flow of the room (it will be close to the door). Will see. @annie, thank you!! I like seeing the big chair first as you walk in, so I don't think I want to move it to the other corner. I also relocated the child's rocker to my son's room for now. Here are a few pics with the changing table moved slightly. I really like it this way aesthetically but functionally it isn't ideal. It is nice to have the table up against a wall to prevent my daughter from knocking things over, or rolling. So this might be my go to look when company comes calling. : )

The insurance discount applies all over Florida. The amount of the insurance premium varies widely depending upon your zip code. You can contact a good insurance broker and see if the difference is worth while to you because insurance premiums in the Tallahassee area are significantly lower than they are here in S Fl. If you are going to just use the shutters as decor then don't put on those plastic stick on shutters at all. Just landscape. Consider more than one bush. A local nursery can give you your plant options. One more thing: right now your house appears to be floating. If you paint the foundation black it will bring your home to the ground. When your budget permits, expanding the steps across the front of the porch will visually make this home look much more appealing. Right now the steps make the house appear unfinished and contribute to the unbalanced look. Part of that unfinished look is the fact that there are no risers and the steps are only as wide as the door. Insp pic for steps below for your cottage. Just the steps not gable detail.
