Strange looking curly parsley

I always grow parsley from both seed and bought plants and this year, I purchased a couple from a show and after a while, they looked like the curly parsley had a perm. It‘s in the same pot as the flat this parsley. It‘s unusual to me. Any ideas?

I don't know the answer but I remember seeing this on curly parsley in grocery stores. Some of the leaves were "extra curly" and they felt stiffer. The texture was not as enjoyable when eaten raw.

Aileen and rhizo, thanks for responding....I don't have a pic yet, but it seems they are opening better now and I have decided they might have been experiencing some shock at first, although there should have been no reason for that. Maybe the yellow ones are a bit more sensitive than others. thanks anyway!

A 6" pot is very tiny, you know. It's possible that your parsley is severely potbound, and has decided to throw in the towel - ie, go to seed and die. Parsley doesn't like being transplanted, but you could give it a try, remove the spiky bits and cross your fingers.

Thanks, then I'll take the trouble to rogue out all the curlies, trying to figure it out. There are several plants, and there are one or two that I'm sure were flat-leaf before they bolted, so I'll try to pull or block the rest.

Parsley is grown from seed and therefore you can get a certain amount of variation in the foliage of different plants.

Thank you all! I would alternate seed and plant but this time this one looked funky. I'll taste it in a few minutes and hopefully its not nasty.
