Layout 1 or layout 2? Master bedroom

We are going to reconfigure the master bedroom + buy all new furniture including bedframe, art, light fixtures, curtains etc.

What is your preference, layout 1 or 2? I am open to other suggestions!

I wouldn't want my head at the window. It's not restful to have an egress behind you where you can't see it.

Can you solve the door issue for Room C by making it an outswing? When open it would then be against the wall with what I assume is some kind of air return / chase. In your bathroom you might also gain some privacy for the toilet by pushing the shower up towards the closet and then putting the toilet on the shower side. Then you can put the linen closet or cabinet across from the toilet (that could also hold toilet paper for when you realize you're out ;) Would be shallower but the back of a 40" deep linen closet would probably be fairly inaccessible anyway. Would perhaps be less private when using the vanity because of the mirror, but do you generally use the toilet when someone else is in the room anyway?

Enchant Design the bedroom you designed is wonderful! Thank you for sharing it! My concern is most efficient use of space,having the bed on one end of the room and entrance on the opposite end. Using your layout, our sitting room would be at the same location as your Master Closet and we would enter the bedroom there. In between, we need a closet(s) and bathroom. Your design does give me some great ideas, if I can just figure out where exactly to place it in the room and not create a long hallway to get from one end of room to the other.

I like layout 2, but instead of a hanging chair with tiny bench and stools use full size chairs and a coffee table/ottoman for a beautiful sitting area.

The sketches are too light to easily read but I agree that layout 2 is the best. I have a room almost identical to this and the previous owners had the bed by the windows. It felt very uncomfortable. That area would be pretty with a chaise or two smaller scale chairs with a table between them as suggested.

One idea, since the room seems large enough, might be to plan your room with the objective of turning the bed so the foot of your bed is closer to the windows than the head of the bed -- you'd face the windows as you wake up.
