Ottoman as coffee table opinions needed, please
Comments (6)Mine are 16 1/2" high, slightly lower than the seat cushion and they look fine and are comfortable. Believe me, no one is going to come into your home and walk out in shock and horror because your ottoman is 16" or 18". Sounds like you want the 16" so go for it. It will be fine....See MoreTV console dilemma . . . Opinions please. Pics included.
Comments (29)I looked at yours again then looked at and measured ours. We have a 60" TV sitting on a 62" console...but the wall it is on is only about 68" long so we could not have gone with a longer console....there's about 3" of wall on each side. And I think that's the reason ours looks OK...the entire wall is TV and console. Since you have wall space on each side, it makes the console look dwarfed. Putting something on each side will make it look more proportional. I like the idea of a tall plant by the window. Maybe taller candleholders on the other side like the ones you have by the window, or even a large vertical print....See MoreSofa style and opinions please
Comments (14)Thanks for this comment, visualizemaven. Made me reconsider this entire thing... you're absolutely right! I've been staring at sofas for over 3 weeks straight and sort of forgot about harmony, it's been an exhausting adventure. Here's how we landed here: We painted the room a light peachy tone, SW Nearly Peach, this color... ... because we loved the color and how it looks with our cherry floors and white accents. We LOVE the room! Then when it came to furnishing it, we felt it needed some color, so we initially turned to pale/icy blues and pale greens, which we quickly realized wouldn't hold up in our 3-dog household. From there, we naturally gravitated toward the darker shades of the colors we already selected, not thinking twice that they may not go in the room in their darker shades. I've poured over images on Houzz, over and over. I'd love any advice you can give about the sofa colors you would consider in our situation (again, there would be two of them over a rug we have yet to select, but there will be a LOT of whatever color these sofas end up being). Thanks again for your time and valuable perspective. :)...See MoreTeal Media Console - opinions?
Comments (20)Thanks everyone! Here is a pic from the other side (this one isn’t a pro pic just my iPhone and not staged! ;-) ) I’m planning to replace the coffee table with a larger balustrade style one in a dark finish. I think we need something a bit larger there. I’m open to adding teal accents through the room but I agree with some of the concern about that particular unit not being the right shade. I also agree we need some color, but I’m probably not going to be able to convince my husband on the navy. We also considered another option in a wood finish but couldn’t make a decision on that one either. My ideal is the French casement console from Restoration Hardware but alas $$$. Considering trying to build something at this point......See MoreJacqueline Ciccone Burns
