Living room: Paint Color/sofa color - photographs
Comments (30)sundial, Thanks for your words. I would like a round dark wood table! ... dd50, thanks a lot for your comment, I liked the idea of it to look "fabulous"!!! ... marty8a, Yes, we have a little bit of an issue with the lighting. There is a fan with no light. the only lights are the ones by the FP. Thanks for your opinion. The sectional is a ROWE and I thought was in a great price. I wanted a Room & Board but it was almost 40% more by the time I pay delivery. .. ideefixe thanks for your comment. I will look into the shade/drapes material/color ... mariposa thank you, I was not too sure about the sofa. I wanted it to have more straight lines but it was difficult to find one without waiting more than 2 months. ... robynpa, I will ask my DH to do the mirror change. thank you!...See MoreLiving room wall color vs sofa color...
Comments (67)Thanks, kitch! You’ve been a big help! I think I like that look best as well. I have just been admiring that big light blue pottery barn vase for a long time now and was excited to try it out. Maybe down the road I could try it on the floor in front of the mantle (at this point my toddler would have a field day with it!). Debating if I should keep it or return it and possibly rebuy later. Got it for about $100 during the friends and family sale. Hmm... What do you think about these looks for my mantle refresh? I appreciate your input! :) Option 1: current look + new throw basket (I’ll probablt put a burnt orange throw in the basket) Option 2: new vase with eucalyptus leaves + new plants on each side Option 3: swapped out the leaves for berry stems Option 4: removes small plants from left Option 5: Swapped out small plant for a slightly different plant Option 6: swapped out plant for one in a tin vase Option 7: swapped out the small plant for a small white vase Option 8: basically same setup i have now, with the addition of the vase! I really wanted to try to incorporate the mercury glass candles since I have mercury glass in other areas of the house. Any of these groupings can use the eucalyptus leaves instead of the berry stems; I just didn’t feel like taking two photos of each look! :)...See MoreTwo couches in living room same color?

Comments (13)I see what you've done including/incorporating your sofa's pinkish tan in your pillows and rug and using analagous deeper pinks. You might have better luck with a color scheme that relies on whites and then contrasting colors (navy, charcoal, chocolate brown) and lets the sofa's pinkish tan stand by itself. (Patricia is right that photos of more of the room would get you more helpful advice. She is wrong, IMO, to fling fly-by snark at your sofa instead of advice; and in how she spells the word "please". Proofread, please, @Patricia Colwell. Your comments are challenging to read. Thanks.) Maybe this thread could help? https://www.houzz.com/magazine/how-to-decorate-a-living-room-stsetivw-vs~105196187 I'd start by painting the walls white. Consider white curtains with some texture, not pattern. Target often offers attractive panels - look for their Threshold or Hearth & Home/ Magnolia brands. If you want to keep your rug, tone everything else way down and incorporate its dark chocolate. Look at the photo in No. 8 - patterned rug....See MoreKhushbu Brahmbhatt
