Replacing a stainless steel panel on Miele Fully Integrated Dishwasher

I have a Miele Dishwasher G 5675 SCVi and the front stainless steel panel is damaged at the bottom. I'd like to replace it, but looking at the 24x30 stainless steel panel on Miele's website (GFVi 609/77-1 - link) it lets me enter my model # to check for compatibility and it tells me that the panel is incompatible with my dishwasher model.

I called Miele, who gave me a cost for the part specific to my dishwasher model# at almost half the cost of the dishwasher itself, a lot more than the $295 they are asking for the panel sold in their online accessory store, GFVi 609/77-1.

From what I've read, dishwasher stainless panels are easily fabricated to size, so I'm wondering what the difference would be between Miele's stainless panels for current fully integrated dishwashers and what I need for my same-size model. Any thoughts on whether I can just purchase the panel GFVi 609/77-1, or better suggestions?
