Fertiliser help!

Hi there,

I have recently discovered the pure joy of indoor gardening and have acquired a small jungle for my Sydney apartment.

Amongst my collection I have:

- Ficus Lyrata (1m tall)

- A climbing fig

- Maidenhair ferns

- An African Violet

- A Button fern

And they are all thriving.

I have just bought a bottle of Seasol and a bottle of Powerfeed so I can give them a good feed before it gets too cold but I've never fertilised them I'm not really sure how I should do it.

I know I need to dilute it in water but is the fertiliser a replacement of or in addition to their next watering? If it's in addition to, how much does each plant need? E.g. Does the Ficus only need a cupful of the solution and then its usual watering?

I'm really in the dark on this one and I don't want to burn my roots by being heavy handed. Any information (the more detailed the better) would be so appreciated.

Cheers,

Claire
