Bought 3 anthracite Silgranite sinks off Craigslist. Each brand new and for less than half the normal retail price. Found my kitchen sink on my local (Austin) craigslist and the two prep sinks (one for the TV room and one for the butler's pantry) off the Atlanta craigslist. A friend in Atlanta actually went and made the purchase for me and then held the sink till I could get out to visit her and pick them up. I've discovered that if you are looking for a pretty specific item, it isn't necessary to individually search every city's craigslist. Instead, try googling craigslist plus terms describing what you want. So, for example, I googled "craigslist anthracite silgranit sink" one day and bam, there they were, newly posted in Atlanta. Of course, if you want to buy from a non-local craigslist, it helps to have friends scattered all over the US that you can talk into meeting the seller and checking the item out for you!

The one hanging in my master bathroom is a pillow sham with a design that I love hung on a rod with clip rings. I am getting ready to do my kithen window. I have some fabric that I love so I am going to hem three sides and fasten the top with velcro -(it will be hidden by molding) over a tension rod that I got at Big Lots. I will either tie it up with coordinating ribbon, or loosely stitch up the bottom to resemble a roman shade, haven't decided yet. I feel like I'm the queen of cheap creative drapes! In my daughters room she has sheers with silk flowers sewn on them. They're great. I've also made cornices and found fantastic drapes at yard sales and thrift stores. I would think about adapting something that you may already have and love.

This is probably too late to help but I just went through the same thing. My contractor's glass guy quoted $560 for 9 12" high doors with clear safety glass and 2 24" doors, with white laminate safety glass. I thought that was outrageous so did my own research. My local hardware store owner was willing to do it for $300. In the end I used an actual glass store less than a mile from home and paid $275 for a really great, professional job. The glass was installed with silicone instead of the unsightly clip/screw system.

All these places in NJ, I live near and I plan to go to them for my kitchen tile. Thank you! Now I am wondering if I should take a look for my foyer areas before calling my installer to change my Lowe's Rialto Beige to Rialto White. I plan to do hardwood in all the main areas but I want Porcelain Tile in the kitchen and the two entrance areas. I love the Rialto Beige but it only looks nice in my front foyer and is too dark in the middle foyer in between the dining room and living room by the bathroom, coat closet, utility room (that had the flood from the central air conditioner unit dying on me and the engineered wood floors are going to be replaced with tile) and garage. I changed the bulb to the maximum 100 watts but the area has no natural light like the front entrance has. Hence, despite the grayish/taupe/off-white color, the Rialto Beige looks like real stone to me and looks nice in both areas. I just hope the Pits are not too difficult to clean. Or should I tell the installer to wait and check out these others places that I plan to check out anyway after my deadlines for my kitchen? I already had gone to Wayne tile and they were so nice but I could not find a tile that I loved as much as the Rialto Series that too me looks like real stone.
