Another seam placement question for Compac Quartz counter top
Comments (2)i wouldn't be too worried about seam strength, frankly. if it's in the corner, the cabinet edges will help support it, and similar would be true for the sink. i would think about what you would find noticable/irritating. myself, i'd want the seam in the corner. i'd find it less noticable there....See MoreQuartz Counter installed doesn't look like sample!!
Comments (35)@Szasta Hi! Did you get the new countertop installed yet? I JUST got back from the stone yard and picked Calacatta Ultra for our new kitchen counters. What you went through was awful and I was scared for a second reading all the posts in the thread but it sounds like yours was a special mistake situation and I am glad they are fixing it for you - and I'm gonna try and not worry about my kitchen counters :))) BTW - I saw the slabs in person and it is STILL difficult to know if it truly the pure white I want. The slab was partially covered in film and was dirty. So annoying. Keeping fingers crossed it all works out. Please post a pic of the corrected stone/countertop if you have had it installed!...See MoreQuartz counter top questions for craftsman style home
Comments (29)I put your choices together I think soapstone would be a great choice, but something in the darker variety. leaving it natural looks completely different than oiling it. this was one I found at a stone place near me: I'd hold off on that backsplash though. wait until everything is installed. you may want to choose a tile that fits more into the Craftsman look. https://info.neals.com/elements-of-a-craftsman-style-kitchen This blue tile would be gorgeous w/your walnut-white cabs, and the soapstone. Check out Winchester tiles. Elements line. I think they have some beautiful blues. Like this Stream color: Heath tiles is another option https://www.houzz.com/photos/craftsman-kitchen-with-soapstone-countertops-ideas-phbr2-bp~t_709~s_2116~a_19-30 other options: Silestone makes their Eternal Charcoal that resembles soapstone. this is the suede finish: I'd also do a copper sink. Or, if the fabricator is good, see if there is enough to make a sink from the soapstone Negresco is another option that is similar to soapstone in looks. Jet Mist/Virginia Mist - honed/satin finish, is a granite with a similar look too. Two-tone cab pics white granite...See MoreFeedback please on MSI "Q" quartz for my kitchen counters
Comments (6)We had MSI quartz installed in July, the Blanca Statuarietto design. We had our fabricator do an eased edge. We haven’t experienced any chipping at all. I cook a lot and make fresh jams and pickles. I have dripped acidic brines that I couldn’t wipe up for several minutes. I have accidentally sprinkled turmeric that overshot the measuring spoon. I do try to wipe things up reasonably quickly. We use trivets under hot pots, we don’t chop on the quartz, we also use a cloth underneath heavy ceramic bowls and baking dishes. I use only water and a microfiber cloth the clean them. We haven’t had any staining or etching....See MoreRelated Professionals
