The color is wonderful!

GREAT job so far...You've been a busy bee! I love the shade of blue you chose..very indigo/jeans/goes-with-everything. Will you be putting a top coat on or leaving it matte?

Rub and buff...try all the golds...whatever ones you don't like you can use on something else. Also, it's messy. Go to the drug store and get some "finger cots". They work out better than gloves as they stick tight to just your finger. Or do like I do and say heck with it.

Consider switching out a couple chairs for something like this...it will bring the blue to the center...

Some photos are not loading, sorry, but 2 simple blue velvet chairs, maybe.

And you could add some trim to your drapes if you sew...it adds a little extra something.

Thank you! I think that it needs a top coat for a little sheen. We are very, very casual though I think a top coat would make the blue look great.

For the rub and buff....thank you for the suggestions. My kids tend to take a few pairs of gloves from the pediatrician's office each time we are there so we have many extra to use:)

Oh my goodness....I was looking at fabric trim last night!!! I really do not want to purchase new curtains, but think that trim would be perfect to add a little color/pattern.

Pennydesign...love the idea of velvet end chairs.

Any suggestions for chair legs as there is not wood in the room that is not painted? The table is a very light greyish/beigeish/white (is that a thing?). I am not willing to replace the table as it has too many special family memories.

Do you mean your existing chair legs or those of any that you might add that have wooden legs?

Pennydesign...legs for possible new end chairs. I love the idea of the blue velvet, but am not sure of what style would best coordinate.

I think your ribbon edging might need to be either bolder or wide...you don't want it to get lost.

End chairs, you will have to do white legs if you're keeping the others the same...but that would be a non-issue for us diy girls :)

The important thing is that the seat height is the same as your existing..

I think that trying to match the shape would be a monumental task...so I wouldn't try...The legs on these have a bit more flare than I would like, though, but you may be okay with it.

Great point about the fabric trim, I will keep looking for something wider/bolder.

I used Amy Howard chalk paint. I actually had the paint at home and decided why not try it:). Used a top coat which turned the color much darker, though I like the shine. Think I need to get used to the overall change...that corner looks even darker now:/

The below fabric tape is 2.5", how would something like this look on on the curtains? (The previous choices were 1.5").

You're going in the right direction with the tape...I have noticed that a smaller quantity of a color often needs to be a brighter version of that color in order to look the same...It's just an eyeball perception thing.

Wow, great job! Love the new color. I would get smaller lamp shades, perhaps in a color closer to the wall or a subtle print. Other than that--it's perfect! (Sorry to hear about the broken arm!).

Now that the buffet has been painted and lived with for a few days, was it a mistake? I seems so dark and heavy while the rest of the room is so light. Help!!!!

Maybe a few more dark blue accessories throughout the room. I love the new color!

Lovely home. I like the sideboard change. I would also change out the white planter on table to a blue/white. Agree you need to add more color to the room, and the drapery tape is an excellent idea.

Is the table new? Ways to add color to the dining area - paint table base blue, replace top with wood, or add chair cushions (if not blue host chairs). Add art to empty wall - I would do a grouping of three, or hang a plate collection. These are also a way to add more color to the room (besides blue).

No, it will be fine..When the darker color starts to appear elsewhere it will balance out. You're just not done yet.

Are you still considering blue host chairs?

Betsy, thank you. I really like the color that you suggested and think that it would look much better with the art and rug. The current navy still feels too dark, it especially hit me today with much rain and not alot of natural light in the house. I think a re-paint day is coming soon:)!

Pennydesign...True that it is just paint! I think everything in this house has been painted at least three times....

So...I could not stand the navy any longer, though it is my very favorite color! Want to get this right before moving to anything else in the room. I tried Eclipse by Benjamin Moore, too grey in the space. Then I tried Normandy- to me it is the best option so far, though maybe a bit too boring. Thoughts? I might just give up and paint it yellow or purple with stripes next:/

I honestly know what it's like to do something and have it look out of place...but the room isn't finished yet! It's normal that it will look out of place...

How about if you leave it the blue gray and revisit it in future? Just try not to obsess over it...

I liked it navy, but LOVE it this most recent color. I think, if you give it a chance to grow on you and get used to it, you might be finished.

I'm a navy girl so that's my choice.

I love the Normandy for your place. It allows you to keep it soft and tranquil and also bring a bit of color into your space. Your rooms are beautiful already. You have done an amazing job so far. If you feel confused, this is the best time to take a step back and reassess. No more painting for now :)))

I thought your buffet was fabulous in navy but I can see why you thought it might be too dark. I agree with the above posts, the new color flows with your space, soft and beautiful. Live with it for awhile, I bet it will grow on you. ;)

Normandy! The first blue was just a little too bright. I think this colour will be more flexible for you in the long run. Goes great with the white and the rug. Really good decision to paint, whichever blue you choose. It was too match-matchy with all the white before.

Thank you all so much for the feedback. The interesting part of this to me is that I am a very decicive person...I either like it or I don't. Why can't I decide on a color and more importantly why is this even bugging me so much???!! I still think something less boring is calling me, but I am agreeing to put down the brush. At least until tomorrow:)

Yes, I still want blue- just a less dreary blue. I need for our house to be a happy place- so a blue that is a bit brighter, more fun. I do also want to add gold, love it. Planning to pick up the rub and buff over the next couple of days.

Final color and I absolutely love it!!! The difference with the other navy is subtle- this color has a hint of royal/indigo and it works so much better for me:).

The canvas painting is currently being framed in gold floater frame. Still need to make some other tweaks with suggestions given, but feel like the room is moving is a good direction. Thank you everyone!!!!!

Ohhh...I just tried the gold rub and buff on the casters of the buffet and love it. Thank you for telling me about that.
