Exterior Color Palette - help please!
Comments (3)I am a bit confused...are you going to paint your stucco? We have a bit of stucco on our house but when I picked the color I didnt go to a paint store, the stucco already came in the color I choose. One thing I do know is pick a color a bit darker than you think, being outside the color gets washed out. I am happy with the color now I have, but wasnt quite what I had in my mind....See Morekitchen wall color and art ideas?
Comments (8)Agree with most of what was written previously. The table is disproportionate to the height of the sofa. I would remove the table and replace with two garden stools for a place to rest your coffee. Add three colorful pillows to the corner of the sofa to add texture, but if you are keeping the pendant you should go with pillows that feel of that era. Move the hanging fruit basket from the corner as it would feel odd to sit there with fruit overhead and move to the left of the end of your counter. Paint the portion of wall below the chair rail to match the top portion of the wall. Check out art from West Elm for affordable large scale art for the wall. The black piece of furniture I am sure is there for extra storage, but is an odd height for the space, at the very least remove the basket from the top of it because it makes it feel top heavy if you can't remove it all together. Yes, a rug will definitely help soften and warm the area. one great painting will help pull it together....See MoreDonkey Tail plant shriveling and dry stem
Comments (3)It may be in really water retaining soil and is there a drainage hole in container? If I didn't water mine more often than 2x in 2mo, it would have died long time ago. They are such easy plants to grow and propagate from leaves or cuttings; what kills them is water retaining soil = rotted roots. But re-root as Andrew suggested. Roots or no roots - they will grow new ones very easily. Here are some (of many pots) I grew from stem cuttings:I cut a piece, cleaned off few leaves to have some stem, and stuck it in the pot. Kept in bright location, without watering for about 15 days or so. I moved them into good sunlight gradually, starting when I saw sign of new growth = that means roots, at least some, have grown. Btw, old growth of your plant is etiolated but new growth seems to be more compact. They need good light eventually to stay that way....See MoreDo I keep this column on my front porch?
Comments (16)IMO, that white column is too fancy-looking and monumental for the house. They look colonial and the main part of your house looks industrial? And maybe the column is too far to the edge of the porch? Actually, to me it looks tilted. That's metal siding? If so, I would look more industrial-y for the column and figure out how to blend the chimney in. Actually, I would re-think the entire porch and make it more current and less conventional. Right now, it doesn't look like it really goes with the architecture of the house. Could you take some more photos so we can see the whole house? Different angles? The yard?...See MoreRelated Professionals
