Ok so for those of you who have built tuxedo park! How did you set up your living room furniture?

Looks great Brittany. We’re in Simpsonville. We ended up customizing a plan, similar to Tuxedo Park.

We’re finalizing the plans now. Plan to break ground next month.

Does anyone have a picture of how they set up the keeping room? And did everyone keep the same room dimension? Just curious...having trouble visualizing how to set it up.

We are going to build the Tuxedo Park plan by Frank Betz this summer. We also find this plan lacking a pantry, and we have decided to take space out of the garage in the space behind the refrigerator to build out a 6'X10' pantry. We've also walled off the loft to make it a bedroom and moved the loft to the space where the center bedroom of the upstairs is.

Brittany Hayes, what is the name of the brick on the front of your home? It is a great choice.

I definitely think the house could use a bigger pantry than what the plan calls for. We ended up framing in the porch off the mud room and connecting it to the keeping room for a decent size pantry. So happy we did it. Good luck with the build!

We are still in framing, but they say by the end of next week it will be under roof. Anything specific you would like to see pictures of. I can go out and get some once it looks like a house.

If anyone has an original sized keeping room, my builder needs a picture of the ceiling. Specifically how the vaulted ceiling comes together with the loft.

Just got my finalized plans! We modified this plan a little due to our site. Hoping to start digging our basement in the next couple of weeks. Would love to see any progress photos from those currently building!

has anyone deleted the fire place from the keeping room? also has anyone built it reversed? it will only fit on our lot reversed.

We deleted the fireplace and put a pantry where the friend entrance was.

We deleted the fireplace, added a pantry instead of the porch, and are building in reverse. We are just in framing though so don't have any pictures of anything finished.

We have a roof, rough in plumbing is done too!! HVAC, wrap, and windows this week!!

Its been a long time coming, but windows finally got installed today.

Looks great!! We’ve been told black frame windows are 6 months lead time.. vs 3-4 months for white frame.. did you have to wait forever on those?

Our windows are bronze exterior from Provia. When we ordered last October, the lead time they gave us was 2 months, and we got them around 5 months. We ordered our entry doors from Provia at the same time, but they aren't in yet. The front door is from Andersen, and they are saying April 17th. Its been tough to say the least.

fun times... we break ground April 1st and are ordering windows the same day. hoping they arrive when needed.

Windows in, wrapped, electric and rough in plumbing all done. High voltage guy comes next week along with insulation!! Coming right along here in Georgia!!

Looks Great Erica! did you go with a double and a single garage door instead of 3 separate doors?

Yes sir we did!! We love the look of three separate doors but with our big vehicles we decided on that. We also added 2extra feet depth!!

Has anyone turned the loft into a 4th bedroom? If so, how did you relocate the staircase to the bonus? did yoh add access to the bathroom to make it another jack/jill?

We did make the loft a bedroom, and we moved the loft to the middle of the upstairs. A couple of bathroom changes as well.

We are nearing completion. Maybe a couple months of interior trim work left. We are looking at 13 months total build time.

My husband is a custom luxury builder in KY. I am the CFO, designer, & realtor for our company. We are currently building this home in Richmond, KY as a downsize for ourselves. It will have ALL the bells & whistles. It's in brick/plumbing/electrical stage now. I'll post some pics as we start adding all the pretty stuff!
