Help! Remodeling Bathroom-are almond fixtures dated?
Comments (7)I think you need to ask yourself a couple of questions, to answer your question. Do you like the color? Yes, then go for it. Will you be selling the home soon? If so, I'd say no, as others may see it as dated. But, if you plan on staying in the house for a while, then go for it. You have to live in it, you should like what you see. I am installing brass fixtures in my basement bath- brass was common to the era of my home. Some think it's out of style, but it works for me and my home's style. I started buying fixtures 3 years ago, and won't be installing them until next year, and guess what- brass is coming back into favor again! Who knows, almond may come back in style too....See MoreSuggestions for budget update for small bathroom and beige bathtub

Here's a tutorial on frosted/privacy window film that would be worth your effort to try...http://www.younghouselove.com/2012/04/frosting-tanking-sucking-it-up/ Ben Moore's paint color "muslin" righted so many wrongs when we sold our house. It is very complimentary to pinky and yellowy beige fixtures. You could introduce some color and pattern while hiding clutter by sewing a skirt for the sink. If you have the most basic of sewing skills you can do it... https://bumblebeelinens.com/blog/sink-curtain-diy-tutorial/ If your floor is in good condition, it looks like it's a nice neutral color and worth keeping. The vinyl base molding needs an update, though. When we readied our house for sale, we swapped out the bathroom base molding to Flexco vinyl base in Baby Breath and it's a near perfect match to the Benjamin Moore "Muslin" on the walls https://www.lowes.com/pd/FLEXCO-4-in-W-x-120-ft-L-Baby-Breath-Vinyl-Standard-Wall-Base/50093920...See MoreHELP UGLY Granite bathroom counters and Almond Colored Fixtures
Comments (9)If it helps I had an ugly Baltic brown granite counter with dated fixtures and dated 4” backsplash/sidesplash, but was not up for a demolition project in this bathroom so left it. . We plopped a new white rectangular semi-recessed Toto sink on top of the old oval hole (the belly of the new sink sits down into the old oval cutout, no cutting & patching). The new sink & faucet stand higher and brighter against the hated brown granite. Relatively low cost low mess. Comments (11)Boy, thanks so much both of you for the thoughts and advice! I really do appreciate it. To answer a few questions .. I am trying to do it on a budget but NOT a $500 DIY budget. I think I’d be happy in the 2-3k range. I’m looking to sell in the next couple of years so I don’t want to spend tons (or as much as I would if I were staying) yet want it to look updated . I think double sinks is preferable as it’s really a kids bathroom and most families in this size house have more then one kid. Of course my 17 year old daughter gets it all as my 16 year old son has always been pushed out to our master bathroom lol. It’s not that bad as he spends about 2 minutes in the bathroom. I’d love to make the tub and tile white but figured that’s 1k at least eating into the budget so was trying to see if there was a way to make it look decent . The vinyl tile or to go with it I decided on price point and the fact that luxury vinyl really to me is looking pretty good and not so fake anymore but would love real tile. To rip out old and put new though even though it’s not a big space is going to be more $ then vinyl. I personally love the stencil idea and looked at tons of videos but realistically I don’t have the time myself to do it. That’s a little more on the project....See Morealgal101
