Paint Design Dilemma Home Decorating

Hi, friends. I need help picking out paint for an open plan home!

I’ve provided a couple of random pictures of my home that I could find on my phone just to give an idea of the furnishings and colors I’m working with. Curtains, floors are light, couches are medium-ish grey....I’m open to all kinds of suggestions for design, too! I’m still in the process of figuring out what style my home is??? My house is flipped upside down at the moment since I’m testing out paints. Thanks!

I had an orangey-peachy house in Baton Rouge, LA and I painted the back porch and door an opposite color on the color wheel - a beachy-seafoamy-light turquoise green. I loved it, but colorful houses are "done" there and this was 20 years ago. If any of your darker bricks go toward the red/maroon spectrum, a cranberry or maroon color could work well for a front door. You might have to make your pictures "public" in order for us to see them.

Thank you all for the suggestions! We plan to tackle the carpeted area, just looking for flooring to match the rest of the house. It is right by the front door, but the section was odd and the color was a light beige. Also, new backsplash and countertops will be added to the kitchen so thanks for pointing that out! I plant to remove that mantle and paint the brick around the fireplace. Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely post pictures along the way.

Thanks! I think the floors are probably cool toned and I’m hoping to find something that will compliment that tone... the floors look more true to their cool tone in this pic

The existing color reads bluish-grey on my monitor, not green, and IMO looks nice with your floors, but I understand if you want a change! I can see how that color might be a little much for a whole-house neutral anyway. I agree that a cooler grey or greige would work best with your floors.

I have both revere pewter and edgecomb gray in my home and love them. Great neutrals

I tried out a neutral beige-y paint and didn’t like it at all. I think what may be the cause to my iffiness is that I need to paint the rooms a cool tone color AND probably look for different curtains....the gold on the curtains is quite warm....?

The dark grey is beaut, Chelsea grey perhaps in dining room with white sheers. A thought

Thanks for your input! I just brought home several samples of grey paints...wish me luck! I do really like the idea of a darker grey but I’m too chicken to go through with it - I’m afraid it would diminish whatever natural light we get and I’m afraid of not having the right tones of furniture ...but I like that idea!!

Accessible beige! I always suggest it for people trying to combine warm and cool. It's a clean light tan with the crisp look of a gray.

If you are going with a more neutral-cool wall color then yes, definitely replace the curtains. In addition to being goldish, they won't provide enough contrast to be interesting.
