HELP! In Socket Auto/Off In Socket Timer??
Comments (18)Hi everyone! I was part of Beacon Light Products, the company that invented and manufactured these products. The company has been gone for many years now. This product, Bulb Boss, was an amazing feat of engineering. It was sold under our own name and packaging as well as with our marketing partner Angelo Brothers (Abco) as shown in the photo on this thread. The electronics inside the little brass cup module were absolutely cutting edge and took electronic surface mounted chips to new levels of performance. I continue to hear stories of people who have these devices still in use today, some 20 years later. I actually think that I still have a couple somewhere in a dusty box of memories of things that should have changed the world but didn't, We took to market 5 products: a 4 level dimmer, 10 and 30 minute timers, a Nightlight, and an Emergency Flasher. The technology was also built directly into incandescent bulbs and sold by us as well as ABCO and Philips called "SmartBulbs". (Smart before everything else used the term). I see today, that Philips has a multi level LED bulb out... perhaps some of that original Beacon Technology lives on! Brandie, I still have a few of the 30 minute modules. I would be happy to send you a couple. Contact me on Messinger...See More13w bulb in a 26w socket/fixture?
Comments (6)Lets assume for a moment that you looked at all the details because you did not think that you already knew all about it. Let's further assume that the electrician assumed that he did know all about it or that he did not want to be observed puzzling over the situation. So the upshot is that you did the better job of thinking through the situation. Most of us have never done such a lamp substitution and cannot speak from experience. But I suspect that the lower wattage (13) lamp will have a significantly shorter life in the 26W setup....See MorePendant light socket that no one knows what type bulb it takes.
Comments (6)Hi HU-914307983, The Bi-pin socket in your picture suggests that it is more likely to be a G4 socket or G5.3 but it appears to be missing the lamp socket holder. We found this that looks similar. G4's and G9's typically have a lamp socket holder that retains and keeps the light bulb from falling off from the base. This one just looks like a bare socket without anything that will hold the light bulb in place. We hope this info will point you closer to the light bulb that you need but so far as we know, this socket doesn't look complete and is missing a crucial part that holds the light bulb securely. Comments (5)It looks like something that is strictly ornamental. Usually has a bottom piece for a candle, and can be used inside or outside, although, it looks like that piece is missing on yours. If you want something solar powered there, just remove it, and put up a solar powered light. Make sure, it can get enough sun there to keep recharging, or it wont light when you want it too....See Morelazzz
