Bathroom Reveal - Filled with GW Tips
Comments (8)LOVE the window and dressing table! Wish I had a window and room for something like this. DD and I shared a bathroom when she was home and we always referred to it as the "family" room. Lots of good memories of her girlfriends gathering there, primping to go out, getting ready for ballgames, dates, etc. Now that I have a 12 year old GD, we find that we end up doing the same thing. DD was home with her 8 month old baby girl a couple of weeks ago, and of course I ended up in the BR with baby while momma was making up and fixing hair. Next, here comes the 12 year old who was visiting....reminded me old times. Enjoy your new bathroom....See Morebathroom faucet with pull out spray?
Comments (18)I usually partially fill a bucket with some soapy water to wash my bathroom floors. I usually put the bucket in the bath tub and either fill it using the tub spigot or I've added a hand shower that's quite convenient for bucket filling (or spraying down the walls and tub after I've cleaned the tub/shower area). I did intentionally select a high arch faucet to facilitate filling containers and washing things in the sink (hands, laundry, etc). I am able to fit the container for my little green machine soap/water under the high arch faucet. I could fit a small bucket probably. I have a hand shower attachment that I put on another (unremodeled) bathroom sink that can reach the shower area that I use to bathe my large dog. So I suppose I could see some uses for having the spray on a sink. If the sink was large enough, it would work well for hair washing. (As a teen I used my parents' laundry room sink which had a spray.)...See MorePrimary Bathroom Floorplan help
Comments (7)We have a recently added master bath and I am a big fan of the toilet room (w/pocket door) - provides just a touch of privacy and separation when both of us are getting ready for bed/brushing teeth - Unless you have an avid bather - I would opt for just a lovely shower, maybe the smaller bath footprint would enable you a layout to get a window in the closet and in the bath? We added a skylight in our bath at the last minute and it's a wonderful source of natural light...See MoreNew build - ensuite bathroom walkway
Comments (17)I just measured in our two bathrooms, which I like. One thing to keep in mind is that the door itself intrudes a good 4” into your passage space when it is open, so your 36” passageway will often be only 32”. It makes a difference. So, keeping that in mind, our bathrooms offer 42” of space between the vanity and the open door. Both vanities are almost 8.5” in from the edge of the door trim, and nearly a foot from the opening. Here’s why we like that: 1) When standing at the vanity, we aren’t standing completely in the passageway, or practically in the doorway for the sink closest to the door. 2) There is room to scoot in a bit, when someone else has to come in. Even though we get ready separately, it seems like someone always has to get something, or bring something. 3) It helps hide the vanity a bit from the doorway. It’s just a nicety, but a nicety it is. 4) Open drawers don’t protrude into the doorway. I strongly recommend a vanity wide enough to have one or two banks of drawers as well as medicine cabinet. And maybe a cabinet over the toilet....See Moregirl_wonder
