Enduring, really like your setup! My new (1983) house is sort of a contemporary-ish, transitional eclectic something or another. I found a great deal on Hansgrohe lever sink faucets and want something that will jive. There is a Hansgrohe model similar to your tub filler but with levers that I need to stare at some more. Boy IâÂÂm a dingbat; once I used your key words âÂÂTub Fillerâ I got all kinds of hits. Just a little flip of the wordage and Presto! The good news is there are a lot more choices out there than I thought (although not huge). The bad news is that I have never heard of most of the brands. For example: La Torre has some real nice looking stuff at a reasonable price. The few reviews were all good on the product itself but bad that it doesnâÂÂt come with some sort of rough-in valve thingy that is hard to find (I guess). Next, I came across this wall mount Baril from the fantasy collection that I really like. But who has heard of Baril? Not me! ItâÂÂs only $380 and must be too good to be true. However, here is the site and IâÂÂm almost convinced to give it a try. Now that I have the right search terms my problem is finding something nice that is not so traditional or overly modern. When I do find something I like it has a name I have never heard of or itâÂÂs something wack from China. Hi Susan, A boxed pedestal could be very elegant and with hidden hinges you shouldn't have to worry about access. Schluter Systems also has a "hidden panel" hardware set which uses rare metal magnets. As an alternative, you could clad the whole thing with tile instead of wood, for a more durable finish. With the increased dimensions of porcelain tiles, it shouldn't be a problem at all finding a quality porcelain which is available in 24" tall single pieces if you don't like the element of grout joints. Four pieces of tile for the sides and a nicely fabricated architectural piece of stone for the top. For a different twist, how about a floating shelf on the wall and the plumbing worked into that? Such a shelf might allow you an even broader range of fixtures to choose from, which might help your budget a little? I think a shelf like this might need a couple L-brackets in the wall for support but those can be very easily hidden under sheet rock and in the interior of the shelf. Best of luck, Shaughnn

Thanks so much for the suggestions and advice. I am concerned about being able to get the tub close enough for a faucet reach but far away enough to clean. Unfortunately, a floor mount is not ideal since we're on a concrete slab. A wall mount would be a much easier install. It would be on a wall backing up to the master closet, so I think we could also have a panel to access the plumbing. I really like the Newport brass fixture, although it's a bit more modern than fixtures we've used in the other bathrooms. I would like to use a readily available brand name so parts are replaceable.

Am about to start major reno on large bathroom. Love the look of the hidden hose in a deck-mount application, but am afraid of hand shower hose leaking or kinking behind the wall. Contractor already made a comment about making an access door on bedroom wall to get to the tub plumbing -- do not want to do because walls are plaster stucco. Appreciate pros and cons for deck-mount vs wall-mount application. I am not adverse to having the hose exposed. Decided on Hansgrohe/Axor products. Also, thoughts on chrome vs techniflex hose?
