Need help with Backsplash for newly renovated Kitachen
Comments (11)Since you are going full wall keep in mind that this will be a large statement, especially if it's open to other areas in your home. If you want to keep it timeless but a bit fresh you could always choose an updated subway tile. 3x10 or 12" tile has a more modern look but is still classic, you can choose a textured tile that looks handmade or different colors as well. A marble tile would look fantastic in there. Other options that are classy are hexagon, herringbone and cement field tile. I suggest going to your local tile showroom and see what styles speak to you before you get totally lost in the endless options online. Then if you look online you have some direction to focus on. Keep the color light so it stays neutral with the rest of your home. It looks great so far btw, good job!...See MoreKitchen renovation. Need help!
Comments (22)@mrsjojo I bought this laminate right when it came out. It is very durable! so far, the only thing that has dented it a little has been super heavy things dropping on it, like a paperweight or bookend type thing. the kids toys dont damage it. I’ve left water on it too overnight etc, and never bubbled it or had a problem there. I used this in the kitchen, living, family, and hallway. I used Backer rod around the perimeter in the kitchen and caulking. I know there is also LVP, so I decided between this and that because of the durability. Some of the LVP looked really plastic to me. There hasn’t really been any negatives to it....See Morewe're renovating/redesigning our kitchen and I need HELP with design!!

Comments (2)Can you take some space from the living room? If the stub wall must be 30", you could put a full-height cabinet on the LR side, and extend a peninsula to the point where the door was. If you need a support post for a beam, it could be incorporated into the seating overhang (plan on left). However, if the stub wall can be eliminated, or if only a support post is necessary on the exterior wall, you could extend the peninsula farther into the LR, and make the remainder of the room a dining area. With seating at the peninsula, the nook could be converted to storage and serving. areas (plan on right). Another option (on right), would be to keep the sink under the window and put the fridge on the stair wall. The fridge would be a trek from the range, but adding a sink to the peninsula would give you a better prep space, and the fridge would be more convenient to the FR and new DR.
