Art work over mantle - help please
Comments (18)Too high, too small ; I agree with all of the above. Above the mantle is prime space/location, you shouldn't have to merchandise around the picture to make it look right. I disagree with adding more matting, possibly you should look for a print that can be framed with all of the image showing, this particular print looks like the matting is hiding some of the picture by cutting off parts of the trees, not too effective, imo. The colors do work in your room, the red is great....See MoreArt Glass Wall Decor Over Sofa
Comments (71)This is the first I'm seeing of this thread. Love the glass. Not sure I'd be bold enough (and I love color too!). What's on the other side of the LR? Did you share your source for the glass? If you did, I didn't see it. I'd love to see a picture of them lit :)...See MoreNeed advice on Wall Art placement and Size of Art
Comments (16)@groveraxle I really, really like your placement of artwork with the four pieces!! Thank you very much for your input!! Would you say that the 2 smaller black and white pieces are 8x10 frames? I'm trying to figure out what size of frames and the 2 larger canvases are, so I can make this look happen! Also, do you happen to know where the floating shelf below the tv can be purchased? Or something similar? You made my morning with your help!!!...See MoreArt or no Art over stone fireplace?
Comments (19)Thanks everyone. I agree on the drapes, they came with the house - don’t love them. But the in addition to the two windows on each side of the fire place there there is a very large window on the walls to right and the left. So this will be quite an expense that I was trying to avoid. But definitely an option and would do in a similar way as @BeverlyFLADeziner suggests. I also agree with a chunkier mantel, however the mantel replacement will require additional stone work, so unless I can modify what I have, vs. replace it - that is not an option. I will definitely keep my eyes open for Art, you have sent some great suggestions that I like a lot. I don’t think I will go with a mirror, as I had one up for awhile and hated the reflection.. as some has commented could be an issue....See Moredecoenthusiaste
