My first time in a home with a foyer. Need help with furnishings for this space

Take away the vase with flowers by the door - instead, place a large rug in front of the door with artwork on the wall. Then, add a console table opposite where the art is currently leaning against the wall, with a mirror (or coordinating art) above it, with a lamp and a few select pieces on the table. Re: the table, I'd try a "half circle" table...

How will this space be used? Is it your everyday entrance in and out of the house, or will it be used mostly by occasional guests? If you are using it everyday, it needs more functional furnishings than if it’s only used occasionally.

Do you have a coat closet ? If not I would look for small armoire for that space where the art is . As for a console table I think I might do a shelf with a drawer instead of a console table since you do not really have much space there Hang a piece of art above it to fit between the switches.

I don't think every space needs to be filled. I like your table and it is fine but a more substantial table would certainly look nice. I wouldn't work just find one, wait until you find one that you can't live without. Until then yours and your chairs are fine.

Looking to add some accent furniture to our entry way. Would an accent cabinet or table look better? Also, hoping for advice on width of the furniture. Should it run the whole length of the wall or just the length where the Sheetrock runs from floor to ceiling? We are not partial to that mirror placement, it doesn’t have to be a factor!. Thank you!

It doesn't look like you have room for furniture. And mirrors are not right for your space. I agree - get a great runner, and add large, dramatic pieces of art, strategically placed. I don't like the reflection of the pendant lights on the textured walls - think about how the light will shine and reflect as you buy new fixtures.

Betty... I think I see a hallway in the foreground with french doors on the right and then a dark area in front of the door. Is that the foyer? Can you show a photo of that as well? I can't tell if there are any doors off that space, closets for example. Do you want advice for both spaces or only in the space near the door? (Lois asks some great questions. We only use our front door on Halloween!)
